hi

I am looking for some help! i have just recently started having problems when waxing bikini lines and brazillians with the wax sticking when their is alot of hair growth especially when doing brazillians nearier the lip area was just wondering if their s any techniques you guys no to help me as im starting to panic when a client books in

You really must clipper/cut the hair to around a 1/4 of an inch. If the hair is too long, it will get stuck like that and it will be sooooo painful for your client. Make sure you stretch the skin when you apply the wax and when you remove the wax and also apply pressure with your spatula when you apply. Press the spatula aginst the skin as you apply and don't float the wax over the hair (ouch!). Good luck doll. xxxxx

thanks i will try your tips although i always ensure my client is stretching and i am aswell but it could be im not appyling the wax firmly enough

Hi, I thought I'd share this with you as it's a trick I've learnt from the website and it's a life saver for me -I used to struggle with hollywood/brazilians. Apply 2 coats of wax, one against the hair growth, one in the same direction, apply the strip as usual, press and remove. Never had a problem. But you do have to trim -as Kim advised, although I find it a bit odd to get in there and trim -don't you??

Do you use strip wax for brazilian waxing?

I'm just curious about this because I've never heard of that before. IMO it would be so painful too.

Were you trained to use strip wax for brazilians, and what was the reasoning for this?

I only use strip wax for Brazillians. No, it's not more painful if you do it properly.

I am trained to use both warm and hot wax but I personally prefer warm wax. Don't think it's more painful, I think it's down to the technique. Always apply small pieces and make sure there is enough preassure when applying it so that the wax doesn't just hover over the hair, but actually pick it up.
Never had any probs, it takes me 20-30min.

That's interesting to know. I think I'll stick to what I know (hot wax), but it's always good to hear about different techniques.

It's funny you were taught both ways, but I was taught to always use hot wax for the sensitive areas (bikini, underarm, brows). Different colleges, different ideas I guess.

When i was training only a few years ago my lecturer didn't even know what hard wax was, she only knew strip wax! I think some college lecturers get so used to doing something that they don't take the time to learn anything new themselves!

Thankfully i've been on a lot more waxing courses since where i have learned new skills.

You can never train enough!
