Having sorted my skin care and hand and foot care products I am now onto waxing, not my favourite thing.....I find it messy not to mention unhygienic! Just finishing this module at college then my course is complete. I have been looking at the PhD safewax system as it looks good less messy and certainly hygienic. Has anyone got experience of this system or others like it and what are your thoughts......do the applicators for the smaller areas such as bikini and brows really do the job..or will I need the traditional system too. Looking at the HABIA website it looks like this will soon be mandatory in order to prevent cross infection so dont really want to purchase both!

I used to use the PHD system.
The problem with the system is that you are constantly taking the tubes out of the heating chamber so the wax does not stay at a constant temperature. Sometimes the applicator heads get clogged too. If the wax is out of the chamber for too long then the wax gets thicker and so you are using more strips.
I know some people love this system so i would see if you could find someone who has it first and see if you could have a little go.

It isn't any particular system that's hygenic......it's what you do with it. I've ssen many a waxer use systems where they are supposed to change the head......and they don't.

Whatever system you use, just work clean and you'll be fine. xxx

I have used PhD waxing system before, but only when they had the honey wax to use with it...not being a fan of honey wax myself I found that it was very sticky, and that the heads leaked wax out of them when in the booster chamber at the front.

I have used Australian BodyCare since, and found that I much prefer this system. The heads are less fiddly, and I found the heater a lot easier to get on with, heating 4 tubes at a time rather than just 2, and no booster chamber that leaks the wax out of the heads.

However, there are a lot more waxes available with PhD now than when I used it, and it's certainly more affordable than the Australian BodyCare system. If I was to go back to a tube system, I would probably choose PhD purely because it's more affordable....but if I had more cash to splash, Australian Bodycare would win every time.

See if you can try both, and see what you think...sorry if i've not been much help!!
