Hi

I waxed two lots of legs, a pair yesterday and again today. However though i pre-cleansed with the Perron Rigot blue, and used Perron Rigot jasmin oil. The wax was a nightmare to spread, It wouldn't glide down the legs, like normal, it kept going very thick and gooey. It was a nightmare. I couldn't spread the wax at all.
The hot wax i used for eyebrows took ages to set, the wax was either to hot or it went really stringy.
I use Perron Rigot Ocean blue and Euroblonde. I also bought a Eurorose (by accident, wrong rose) which wasn't to bad.
Is it possible where it has been so hot and the women were hot it had an affect on the wax, if so what could i do to prevent this happening again, if anything

Thanks:)

I would think a mixture of the room and client being on the rather warm side... it is very humid at the moment. You could try using less oil and also blotting the area with tissue after applying the oil and before applying the wax.

This is the problem they have in America with waxes, it just won't set up in the humidity so they tend to use ice and coolers to cool down the wax after applying.

Berins Jetset was designed with these problems in mind and it is especially good setting up in hot humid conditions and excellent for getting out the short stubborn hair. I have now seen it in action and its really an excellent wax and sets almost on application and its a non strip wax like the Euroblond, just applied much thinner.

It should be here in this country to buy this next week and I can't wait to add this to my salon waxes.

Nat......you're doing something wrong. Your Euroblonde should be quite solid in the middle and soft around the edge of the heater. Always take your wax from the wall and not the centre. Don't use hardly any oil at all and blot with a tissue.

Cristal Ocean: I have mine really thin and runny and there is no way that it won't spread. You've got the temp too low. You don't have to apply oil every time.

You're an excellent waxer so don't let it dishearten you. Just turn that dial. xxx:hug:

again some great advice given above by 2 experienced and knowledgeable waxers.

as jen has stated the jet set is ideal in this weather as it applies much thinner than other hard (non strip) waxes and removal is quicker as it sets quicker.

which ultimately means that you are using less wax meaning your profits are more - how cool is that. plus the removal is more comfortable for the client.

i love waxing !!!!!

Hi guys

Thanks for the advise,

Thanks Kim lol, it did knock me for 6, i couldn't understand what i was doing. I did use oil and blot with tissue. The wax went 'funny' so i used extra oil, so proberly to much! I think i did have the crystal ocean to low, the euroblonde was melted to a thick consistancy, no hard bit in the middle, i also had it as low as the dial would go. I think i was compensating due to the hot weather. I did have both dials turned up full to begin with, then turned them both right down. I'm waxing my legs tomorrow night (daughter's) i shall knock the dial up,lol, and use a tiny amount of oil, hopefully all will be well. I'll have a play around then.
