Went to Tesco's earlier, and while at the cashout, i noticed she was wearing enhancements (if thats what you could call them), anyway i looked at her nails, and said, oh i just noticed you got alot of bacterial infection going on with those, you should go back to your tech and get it sorted. she came back with "oh im just gonna soak em off, and let my nails breath, my tech said i could do that":eek::eek::eek:- errrrrrrrm excuse me, and this is the types of nail tech i have to compete with. and i bet she only charges £20 - £25 a set (no i didnt ask). it really annoyes me that so many techs tell there clients this line, i reckon its a cop out, cos they dont know HOW to deal with this problem. tho it shouldnt really happen in the first place, but i know it can, here endeth me
:smack: thats before anyone else wants to slap me

i bet they where "value" nails....

good on you for saying something to her!x

Go Glynis!!!! :) No wonder enhancements get a bad rep. :(

i know what you mean. The other day my hairdresser told me she goes to a NSS salon in hull 'cos her nails last much longer' and 'only cost £20' a set and £14 for infills' where as everywhere else is £40.

Mis education!! I found lately more people are going to the cheapest place and being brainwashed by technicians with hardly any training doing them at cheap prices for a bit of extra pocket money.

I only charge £28 a set (which i am increasing after xmas) and i get told im too expensive all the time.

U shuld have given her your card - i'd love a set of glynis's!! x

As the Tesco's chick had alot of infection then yes, IMO she should have them soaked off, oxygen helps to kill bacterial infections, starves it of food etc to feed off.
The only thing wrong IMO is her tech, NOT this client should have soaked them off for her.
A slight bac infection is fine to scrub fresh and reapply, but not alot of it??

Yay I have had a set of Glynnis' enhancements and they were fab - one talented tech there

always annoying when techs fill their clients head with rubbish like this lol. heard it so many times.
im only charging £23 for my nails at the minute, i wouldnt call them budget/value nails as there not poorly done, its just simply to get the clientel as im a bit quiet at the minute.

I didnt think that you are allowed to wear enhancements if you work in a supermarket ? or in the food industry

because they reckon that if a nail 'falls off in someones food'
my friend had to take hers off when she worked at morrisons.

Not sure how valid something like this would be.

I have got naturally long nails, so if I were to accidentally knock my nail and break it and it falls into the food, are they going to tell me that I'm not allowed to have long nails and that I need to cut my nails ??

I have seen loads of girls in the supermarkets who either have naturally long nails or who wear enhancements.

she was on the checkout, so im presuming that she doesnt handle food flower, BUT i used to do a tesco girl, that did handle food, stacking shelves etc and she said it was fine for them to wear enhancements. ithink this wearing enhancements only goes for when you are in the restaraunts within the supermarkets tho, tho i wouldnt swear to it
