Hi

I'm wanting to gauge opinion please.

At the moment I am busy with work but it tends to be weekends, the odd daytime or evening.

As I am a single parent I have a goal to set myself to get a large amount of money behind me, as next year I have to re-mortgage on my own. Ex will have to remain on our mortgage til then but I want to take him off this next year.

With the income I earn I would be refused a mortgage with the current situation.

I plan to do more advanced things with my career including offering training, but I can't seem to get on a course right now.

So I've applied for, and got the "job" as a self employed courier.

My question is what do you think of this ? i.e. am I taking focus away from my business?

I think I could manage it easily cos I am always flying about and love getting out and about.

If I have work in that location I can drop the parcels on the way.

Initially it wouldn't be much work at all I've been told.

I live in a shoebox sized house also which could make it hard.

Anyway geeks, what do you think I should do : build my business up more, which I will do anyway, or take this little part time earner on which could get me out and about meeting new people ?

I feel isolated being alone a lot due to my situation.

Thought I'd ask you anyway to see if anyone had similar experiences.

I say go for it hun. :)

If it gets you out and about and interacting with more people, then you can be good advert for your nail biz which in turn may bring more clients. Always have biz cards handy and if someone says I like your nails tell them you do them and say if they don't mind can you give them a card.

If you feel it is getting too much, see if you can reduce your time working as a courier. But any money is good money and if you can enjoy yourself in the process then why not??

Good luck hun. xx

Edited to say I just realised you don't do nails, but if you get talking at the door as I often do, mention that you are just doing this part-time while you build up your own business. xx

Thanks well I've always quite fancied a job where you get out and about, and cos I'm mobile I've thought it would fit in OK and also I could possibly take my son with me, which maybe naughty, but I have 10 hours a week where he is at nursery which I don't normally work so it may bring in extra income. I can always give it up I suppose.

Go for it:green:

My mum done this before and she enjoyed it nice to get out a bit and it is an easy job, income isnt really high but its still something extra.I used to go with her and enjoyed it especially in the summer:lol:

Thanks, well I'd told him I was going to do it, but just a little apprehensive. I love to drive and can take kids with me if necessary, most of the time it won't be cos it's only very part time. I'm getting giddy now! xxx

You will also have the joy of clonking up 100 flights of stairs when it comes to flats

Hey keeps me fit! It's to businesses mostly. May not be able to take my 2 year old with me then lol

What you could do is take your leaflets with you for your beauty business and put them through the doors whilst your delivering parcels that way your gaining new clients and working with your deliveries also hand them out to people you deliver to xx

I know this is a thought too, thanks VS!
