What is the purpose of an artificial nail structure?

Hello everyone, i need an answer for this question, would i be right in saying.... Artificial nails, also known as fake nails, false nails, fashion nails, nail enhancements, or nail extensions, are coverings placed over fingernails as fashion accessories . Some artificial nails attempt to mimic the appearance of real fingernails as closely as possible, while other designs may deliberately stray in appearance from real fingernails. thankyou:biggrin:

They aren't always fashion accessories, some people have damaged nails or have lost nails. The damage could have been done through trauma or illness and the person may just want their nails to look natural xx
