I'm looking for a light almost metallic or pearly pink uv gel to go over my french manicure gel overlays. Now my nails are nice and white they look nice with pale pink sheer varnishes, so the whites still show through a bit but with a ****** pink shimmer, but i would like some gel so it lasts longer. Nothing too pink though as it makes the whites go dull. I have tried NSI, Aksentz and IBD gels and no luck there. Any ideas or do i have to stick with varnishes? Also which is the brightest paint on uv gel for French?:)

CND do a few semi sheer gels for what you want in different skin tones such a swarm, cool and neutral. Also a very bright paint on white gel and a soft white paint on white.

did you try the Akzentz opalescent shimmer....??? i use that over french and it gives a lovely pearly effect. You just use it as you would the topgloss gel.

Thanks. Yes, i've tried the Aksentz colours and don't rate them too much. Not for what i would like any way. I do use their brush on white but it dulls and yellows quickly. Any ideas?

I wish i could invent uv gels, nothing seems to have been invented for what i wouldlike yet! Typical! My whole life is full of inventions uninvented!

You could try mix a few coloured gels to get the colour you desire x

What's wrong with polish anyway? Over enhancements it lasts such a long time and if it doesn't then it's a retail sale to the client. I love retail and I can't sell the client a coloured gel. :green:

I am not talking about the soak off options colours...its the Akzentz (buff off) opalescent shimmer...(topgloss) that i meant....and i use all the Akzentz whites and they never yellows...ever !...its a buff off gel so nothing can penetrate it to make it yellow...my clients could sit with their nails in curry powder for a week and wouldn't stain/yellow.....

It is the akzentz buff off i use. I am a hairdresser and have their white but somehow it does't seem to look as white as it does when it's redone again, comparing the two nails together. Varnish is ok but that gets coloured easily when i work whereas the gel wouldn't. Just a thought anyway. Seems what i would like hasn't been invented yet. A sheer metallic pink, how simple can it be? The pearly top coats just aren't quite right. When doing a french overlay, if it's too pink it dulls the white. Need one that's a little stronger colour to go under the white, maybe in a builder to. Then that could go on before the white, to leave a nice crisp white. I also use a pearly white on the top of bright white to really sparkle, then a clear coat builder on top. Difficult to explain on here i guess!

Not sure if my thought is the thing you are looking for but i mention it anyways:D You could try to mix white metallic pigment powder (eg. Young Nails Frosted pigment is fab) to your pink builder gel. Either to a transparent pink or cover pink. They both give a lovely metallic pink finish. The best thing is that you can adjust the amount you are mixing in...what kind of effect you want you are going to get:)
You can use it as a thin coat over just before your finish/shine gel. Or then use in between your builder layers (as you mentioned you would like something to put on before white).
Hope it helped:hug:
