had 2 clients (no name just a & b) clients A's husband called and set up booking for her and sis (client B) all my instincts told me no for some reason.i dont know what it was i just felt it wasnt right at the fitting i felt very awkward the whole time and uncomfortable. ive never felt like that before mobile or in the salon.

i did a 7 day check which i do for extensions to give me peice of mind he said ' they still look fab '.
a week after i got an email saying half her hair has falling out in 4 days and if i can come that evening and i couldnt i told them i was away that week the fitting. i got no response for two weeks..i offered to send someone else down no response.

then clients hubby B also emailed saying the same and i said the maintainence was due and asked if they could come to me or the salon as im not technically a mobile extensionist which they knew and only offer it if i can near my local area which they are... but i coudlnt do anything before xmas now and i dont see clients that late..but would be happy to see them in the salon or come to me and i only live two train stops but they wont after 7pm. at the fitting i made it clear i dont do evening but was making acception.

again no response to my email for over a week,

i now have a letter by email asking for money back £330, £260 for damages and £100 for discomfort .. each or court action

i have lady who does my own hair and is very known in my area and we pass on clients to each other depending on where they are. As it happens she knows them and she was the one who cancelled last minute on them before they came to me. she said she felt 'something didnt add up' but i did too but i still did it

i havent seen there hair anything i offer with times they cant do it? only for me to come late and i cant ive offered other times morning afternoon or another technician to come in the evening when after 7pm but no.

advice on this pls whats best to do now? ive never done hair extensions that have fallen out in days but i cant see anything as i cant get a time that i or someone can go

sorry long post... hope it makes sense

HI,
It sounds like a scam really and they just want to scare you. I would just reply to them by letter telling them that it is your policy that unless you actually see the hair to ascertain the damages you are not in a position to offer to redo/refunds but if they want to stop by they are more than welcome. It sounds as if they are just trying it on. I cant imagine any court being happy to have their time wasted over a matter like this without suffcient cause. A court requires proof and it doesnt sound like they have any and without going back to you they have not given you a chance to mitagate any issues. Well here in Dublin it would be laughed out of court and then they would be liable for costs. So i doubt they would carry it that far.:irked:

Try not to worry.

We are all born with instincts and we choose to ignore them a lot, as we let ourselves think "oh I'm just being silly.. etc"

Well as my mother has always taught me... NEVER GO AGAINST YOUR GUT!!!

We have instincts for a reason and that's to protect us and for some reason you got one of those feelings in this case.

I think you were right.... this all sounds highly suspicious! :irked:

I'm not a hair Geek, but I'm finding it difficult to understand how the hair was perfect after a week and then suddenly all falling out.

Why did it take 2 weeks to get back to you??... It all sounds very strange to me.

If I was in this situation I would go to a solicitor and get some advice

I really hope this all works out for you, but if they are talking about going to court (which I'm sure won't happen:hug:).. I would get some advise from a professional and fast!!

Under no circumstances should you refund any money without getting advise!!

I wouldn't give a refund!
How can you refund without seeing the hair anyway.
They have disregarded your advice about maintenance, they wont come to the salon and they want a refund.
Sorry but i think they are trying to pull a fast one and i certainly wouldn't give one.

I would write back (recorded delivery) that as they have not given you the opportunity to see the hair to acertain whether or not there is a genuine problem, that they should make a reasonable appointment with you. No refunds can be given after so much time has elapsed, as problems with hair show themselves within the first week

this is why i do the 7 day check up as i think it shows up after about a week.. but was told its fine..

i will write a letter tommorow its about a week or so between my emails to get a reply... no-one is picking my calls

they are asking for money back £330, £260 for damages and £100 for discomfort.. he said he doesnt want contact just to get the money in 5 days. as she has been to someone else now to sort it out.

As it has already been said send the letter recorded delivery this covers your back then if they take you to court which i very much doubt but better to be safe than sorry.

Keep all emails and records of telephone calls aswell, this does infact sound like they are trying it on, you have given more than enough chances to look/rectify the hair and the fact that they still havn't got back to you and took so long to respond says alot....if it was a real problem they'd of wanted it sorted out ASAP.:!:

In the letter i would also clearly state the fact that you have contacted them several times giving dates and whether it was a phone call or email and if a voicemail was left and state the time difference of them getting back to you about the situation and the efforts you've made to rectify this with no help on there part and unfortunatly if they have been somewhere else there is nothing more that you can do as you have not seen the hair or been able to come up with a solution to put it right, which if memory serves me right (don't quote me on this), if trading standards are involved you are meant to be given a chance to put it right before taking further action. Don't forget to keep a copy of this letter.

Hope everything turns out ok, people normally threatening this sort of action are all talk! when people are generally upset or disappointed with a service they let you know and accept an offer to put it right or will come up with some sort of compromise not ask for £ for damages.... Unless you've damaged there hair beyond repair or something

they are taking about week to reply as yes if was me id be down the salon or home whatever it is at earliest point..

also got an email saying not to call only through email.. il write a letter as stated to cover myself mainly.

i wonder why they take so long to reply. first i thought they were trying to get out of maintainence so i would come and tighten rings etc for free

but i also know they didnt want it long term just for a holiday they went to that weekend for for client A birthday and said they'd probably just take it out shortly after so i dont know....i did ask them why not just do something temp but i cant remember what they said but it didnt make sense anyway abit like wasting money for long term extensions for a weeked basically..

I'd get in touch with my insurance company. They'll be able to give you advice as to what to do

They are taking the absolute mick.

What a load of rubbish. I really dislike people like that, how come they told you after a week it was fine and then changed their mind and said it fell out at day 4?

If there was a problem they should have shown you or at the very least had a picture with date stamp.

If there was a problem i could understand a refund, but no more.

I think they are really trying it on and i don't think they will take this any further. Like the girls said, keep copy's of all correspondance. Make a list while you remember, including phone calls, emails, etc, just to protect you.

Good luck sweetie, don't let this one off get to you xxx

ok..well i got an email today saying its from teh court service

and i qoute

'court case filed and served today at 12pm... this court does not need to go to a hearing and the judge finds you need to refund £650.00 to the defendent xxxxxxx'

he doesnt have my address as i did it mobile so he doesnt know my salon luckily

i didnt get time to ring the court and find out any info..and there is no number on the letter but i googled the court it states to find a number to ring tommorow...
but i rang my solicitor anyway and he says its fake and to ignore it..

omg how could someone do this ? i am shocked literally!

The courts would send a letter not an email!
Honestly some people!
I'd keep hold of the email though.
You can get done for impersonating a policeman-wonder if you can get done for impersonating a court official!!

A court would only ever send a letter. So don't worry

You'd need to go to a small claims court first if this was the case which takes weeks for a dateto come through and both sides would need to respond to court letter before this even happened and both side are heard before any decision would be made. Do they think you fell off the top of the christmas tree?:!:

What disgusting people they are , definetly keep email on record and if it persits i'd contact police infact i'd be inclinde to contact police anyway and make them aware of what is going on just on record.

OMG people are crazy, i know i shouldnt but im kinda laughing as well though only because no Judge in the world can issue a judgement without an official summons to court, the only time they can do that is if they had sent an official summons and you just didnt bother to show up to Court but even at that the burden of proof would be on the otherside to show they had served your properly etc!! Absolute scam artists, i would go to the police with all of this so that you at least have some kinda record in case these losers step up thier scam campaign! If things get really bad they might have shot themselves in the foot because there might be some way of their email being tracked by an expert as each computer has a specific number or something like that, not that im sure things would go so far but the courts would not be happy with these types of emails floating around. Madness!!!:irked:

Good grief, what sort of muppets are they to think you'd fall for that, I'd show this latest email to the police, over here that's called trying to obtain money by deception:eek:

that made me laugh ... a christmas tree .. well ive defintely learn to go with my gut feelings from now on about people..
im sure im not the first and probably why they wouldnt accept any of my calls

so wont let it spoil my xmas but it definetely mad me more aware of what people will do

I am so sorry but they are not stupid your are stupid.Don't miss this opportunity and send them email about this scam and fraud that they are trying to get money from you.And I hope your have their address( you should do clients records) and apply for police help as fraud again.Goog luck.:Grope:

i work in a jewellers but feel this is still applicable;

my boss had to go to court the other week because a customer claimed we had damaged his watch when changing a battery. my boss had asked several times to see the watch and the customer refused, then our solicitor wrote to his requesting that we could see the watch so that we could assess the damage etc. we never got to see the so caled damage and so the judge basically laughed at the customer for being unreasonable then dismissed the case.

im sure that legally, you have to offer to remedy a situation but you would have to have a chance to do so and they haven't given you that chance. it seems you have done everything correct so don't worry.

i hope this is resolved soon for you
xXx
