Hi everyone

I am currently doing an essential nails acrylic tip and overlay course. I bought the frenchy tips as an extra and clear and high white acrylic powder. This is because I was really dissapointed with my results using the tips supplied. I have tried using the frenchy tips and understand that they don't get blended. Now I am confused about which colour powder to use. At the moment I am using white on the tips to the smile line then the pink on the crown and cuticle area. They just don't look right. Do I need to be using the clear acrylic powder? I wanted to have definition with my smile lines and the essential nails course doesn't teach how to do that.

Also, I am having trouble making the acrylic thicker in the middle. I keep pulling it all down to the free edge. What am I doing wrong?

I was at scottish beauty up in edinburgh in may and saw the lovely Entity lady use clear powder over the tip, and pink on the middle and cuticle area - which went against everything i've ever been taught and up til then i'd been using a pink powder for the whole nail. Looks much better the new way, plus she did the middle bead first, then the cuticle, then the tip last (again, as opposed to what i'd been taught) That way you don't pull anything down from the middle. HTH

Thanks for that. I will have to try it.

I am going to have to use the tips provided in the essential nails kit for the assessment card which is bloomin annoying as my tip blending is crap! i get this white shadow which I can't seem to get rid of. Do I need to file that a bit more? I am frightened of over filing incase I hurt someone when I do it on a real client.

I got my first assessment card back this morning and I got 65% its a pass thank God but I am a bit miffed that I didn't get a higher mark. The main point was not applying enough product on the apex and not streamlining the nails properly. I seem to have a real issue with that.

Hiya ! i have a client who only wants white tips i cant talk her into me doing the smile line !!! but each to there own i use clear on the tip and pink on zone 2&3 i just pull the pink very slightly over the clear and they do look lovely ! let your zone two rest for a second before you work and this should help or maybe you ratio is a little wet ? good luck honey xx

If you're getting a white shadow when you blend watch how much glue you're applying cos it will hold any dust when you blend. Keep practicing, it does get easier!

Hi hun you dont have to use the tips provided with the trainer but you do have to use tips you can blend and that are natural if its the natural that are in your kit. If I can be any more help pm me ..x
