hi all

Just a quickie you know when you do nail extentions with white tips do youremove the shine from the tips? or will that make them look weird i never do and never have any problems but just wondering!!

thanks in advance xx:hug:

I remove the shine but I know a lot of people don't and they don't experience any problems either.

If you are not getting problems, I don't see why you need to change what you are currently doing.

I dont want to change i hardly ever do them as nails arent my fave thing in the world only ever done a few white tips just wondered wot others did thats all.

I hardly use white tips these days, but when I did I never removed the shine & never had any problems. This is using L&P, Not sure about having to remove the shine with gel, but I'd assume you would need to.
If you try & remove the shine, be careful as you could end up ruining the smile line or getting dust onto the still wet glue on the smile, if any has seeped through.

You do not need to remove the shine when using l&P but you certainly do if you are using whit tips with gel.

However, if I use white tips, I always remove the shine as the end result looks more classy and less 'cheap' for want of a better word. Well I SHOULD SAY I used to remove the shine but now I use the CND well-less Performance tips that already have the shine removed so I don't have to. :green:

Most gels will peel off a shiny surface!

It is always recommended to buff a tip gently with no finer than a 180 grit file before applying gel.

It doesn't ruin the smile line .. you are not blending the tip just scratching it.

I gently remove the shine with a fine file 180 grit and ues a downward motion towards the free edge, that way it doesn't interfere with the smile line and there are no scratches either.

Any small scratches you make on the tip won't show up once you've applied your product and using a 180 won't interfere with the smile line either providing you don't overly apply pressure :green:
