Will my client think I was trying to catch her out?

I have a client that has been coming to me for years. She has fab natural nails and usually asks for an overlay. She booked in about six weeks ago for NNOs as usual, but rang just before the appoinment to change it to a french polish, so no probs that what she had. I had already put her in for her next appointment for a soak off and new overlays for this week and forgot to cancel the soak off bit in my book (not a big deal really 'cause it only takes 15 mins)

Anyway, she just rang this morning and apologised again that she wanted to cancel the overlays and just get a french paint, so again that was grand I said ok, but totally forgetting that she didn't have gel still on I asked how she removed her gel and were her nails ok.. at this point she should have been telling me "remember I only got a fp the last time" but instead she launched into how she removed them with acetone and buffed off some (she's a beauty therapist) It was only when I got off the phone that I realised she hadn't had her gels done with me so she must have gone somewhere else. I'm usually booked out for 4 to 6 weeks so I would never mind this, but I'm just mortified that she thought I was being cheeky and trying to catch her out. She said she'd ring me back to confirm what time she could come in at for the french paint but I haven't heard from her.. sorry for going on.. what would you do? I'd absolutely hate her to think I was being unprofessional... am I just being stupid?:|

You made a genuine mistake, I really wouldn't worry too much if I were you. If she raises the issue, tell her the truth, if not, put it out of your mind. HTH

Thank you so much for saying that... I've been feeling bad all day 'cause I know this client wouldn't be impressed with me.. anyway I'm putting it down to experience and will think before I open my big trap again..thanks again for your reply

Oh don't fret, I'm an expert at saying the wrong thing - comes of talking too much in my case:)

Its so easy to do, so dont worry. When you next see her (im sure you will) if she mentions it just be truthful.
