    New systems / techniques

Good Afternoon, I hope you are all well. I have been away for a long time and a long time out of the industry. As I was wrapping up with clients all those years ago I was finding I was using L & P and hard gels less and had more and more gel polish. Now my daughter is at school and I...

    Gel polish advice

Hi :) Most brands will have a specific method of working with their individual products. It was always advised to complete a conversion course (brand training) after qualifying to ensure you are familiar with a particular brand. Lamps are quite brand specific, once you have chosen which...

    Massage timings

Good Morning, Please can anyone help me with their timings? I am getting back in to massage (Swedish and hot stone) and wondering what times, order people generally use as a guide? I know it varies from client to client but just wondered what works for everyone else? My old notes show the...

    Halo Hair

Hi Everyone :) I've been looking at a hair halo as an alternative to clip ins that I currently wear. They look lovely and easy in the pictures but I wonder how anyone that's used them finds them? I have quite a lot of hair and struggle (perhaps in my mind) to disguise the length of all my...

    Baking?

Hi Everyone :) I have been hearing about "baking" and reading up on it for now, I was going to have a little play on myself but it is not clear which powders are actually any good for this, can anyone recommend one? Thank you, Louise

Can you remove things like Crazy Colour?

Thank you so much for your reply, You're right, it is a big risk to go for it and then be left with potential staining. Pintrest has been popping up with hairstyles with a sort of "slice" of colour on one side, might give me the colour kick I fancy without over doing it!

Can you remove things like Crazy Colour?

Good Morning, Apologies for my non-hair knowledge :) I really like the light pastel colours people seem to have at the moment. I am not certain of the brand of these fashion colours my hairdressers use but I am very keen to get them to try something like this. The only issue I have is...

    Aromatherapy oil supplier

    Aromatherapy oil supplier

Good Morning :) I am qualified in massage and aromatherapy but don't use it on anyone other than myself. I have never really had a good little set of oils giving me everything I need. My husband has said he will purchase me oils of my choice for my Birthday. Can anyone recommend their...

    Hair stretching when wet

Could the chlorine have caused all of this? I had never noticed this before and the only thing different is the swimming?

    Hair stretching when wet

Thank you for your reply, Some of the hairs broke off, some of them stretched and then were sort of curly?! Some of the hair looked as though it had swelled a bit.

    Hair stretching when wet

Thank you for your reply :) I don't swim regularly, yesterday was the first time in ages! I had never noticed the problem before, could it have been the problem even though it was only once? I was thinking of trying coconut oil, hopefully that could help?

    Hair stretching when wet

Good Afternoon, I have naturally dark brown hair which I have had blonde for years before without any problems. After a break of being brunette for a few years I have gone back to being blonde, so far I have had highlights twice. I went swimming yesterday and washed and conditioned my...

    Dying hair to match extensions

Many thanks for your replies. My hair is in good condition, I use oils and things and try to leave my hair to dry when I can and avoid heat if possible. Do you think they would all over colour for something like this? I don't mind that at all, I used to have this years ago before but I...

    Dying hair to match extensions

Good Afternoon, I am a nail and skin geek with hair query. Up until 6 weeks ago I my hair was what I was told a faded 6. I went and had foils in around three different blondes. My hair is overall a blonde looking colour but there is obviously still my 'brown bits'. I am due back at the...

Who is the original Salon Geek?

I can remember when it was the Nail Geek. I can't remember if Skin was added first and then Hair at a later date. Seems a long time ago now. I used to be here every day but I am only here a handful of times a year now!

    Bad breath-client

I used to have a bowl of wrapped mints you could offer out. If you have a mixture of different looking wrapped mints including something like a chocolate peppermint creme you get plenty of takers! Drinks can help too so have a mix of hot and cold drinks.

    Is cheap always poor quality?

I will see if I can explain whats in my head to make any sense iykwim ?! There are many different brands of 'cheap' products, some are better than others. I guess I group these in to products where you do not need to go to the manufacturer for a conversion course. For a newly qualified...
