    Luo colour question.

Hello guys. I have not been on here for years but I have a question. Male client ,70% white. Natural level between 6 and 7 and wants full head permanent colour to cover grey. He doesn't want a complete block opaque look so am thinking of using L'Oréal Luo colour 7.1 and 7 or 7.1 and 8 Would...

    Setting lotion and colour fading.

Yeah I also use sulphate free shampoo for coloured tinted hair which is kind to the skin and supposedly causes less fading. ;)

    Setting lotion and colour fading.

Yeah I have tried coloured setting lotions and sometimes use coloured mousse. Just wondered if the actual alcohol caused more fading compared to non- alcohol based products. Years ago you could get any coloured setting lotion. Now there are very few which I've seen. With each decade that...

    Setting lotion and colour fading.

Hello guys and girls. I know that tinted hair fades over time, but does anyone else find that using setting lotion on tinted hair may actually cause more fading. Alot of other styling and blow dry sprays also contain alcohol which may add to colour fading. I use a color protecting spray...

    Best shine spray?

I also second the Clynol Hairshine spray. (Great stuff). :) Just make sure the clients mouth and nose are well covered when spraying, otherwise they might choke to death. :irked:

    Newbie needing colour advice!

I have used Luo Colour P01 on bleached hair with good results. Apply the pastel toner quickly, and again, watch development closely to avoid the possibility of an ash tone overload. :)

    Newbie needing colour advice!

Maybe igora royal pastels 9,5-1 with 3% oxidant, or igora vibrance demi 9,5-1 with 2.8% oxidant. Watch development closely. Heard that Dialight pastel toners, or Majirel 9.02 is good. Depends on how warm the highlights turn out.

    Colour change help

I also forgot to mention that if her hair is extremley damaged and porous, applying level 7 may end up darker, especially if using level 7 ash or blue ash tones. :)

    Colour change help

Personally, to achieve a 7-1 on a natural base 5 is not possible because of natural underlying warmth. Maybe why her hair has turned out coppery with the home dye. Ash tones do help to control warm undertones but will not be true unless hair is white or at least a base 7 or above. I...

    Schwarzkopf Igora

Hello kim. You don't nessasarily have to use just the natural base shades to cover grey with Igora Royal. You can also use the -1 and -4 shades on their own to cover grey. You could try the 8-4 shade on its own without 8-0 Also, if she is definitley 100% white, you can use 3% peroxide as...

    Rusk Deep Shine

Hi mate. I used deepshine tint once. I thought it was ok for the price. But I wouldn't say its performance is top notch. I have used quite a few makes in my time, and for me the best is Schwarzkopf Igora Royal. Love the stuff and use it all the time. But we all have our preferences...

    Blue colour

Hi there. If client has a dark base, obviously pre-lighten first. I have used Igora Royal 0-22 with 10 vols. The blue was quite intense, but it will fade quick, so I suggest she will have to continue to use a temporary blue colour. ie Crazy colour or directions to keep up the vibrancy...

    L'Orèal Iona info please

Hi there. Yeah its a nice creamy consistency. I would say its a bit more runny than Majirel. It has a slight oily consistency as well. And as mentioned above, apply plenty of product to saturate the hair to attain perfect coverage. It emulsifies and rinses out really well leaving the hair...

Schwarzkopf Igora Vario Blond White Extra Power Bleach

Vario extra power is white bleach and lifts more levels than the vario blue bleach. It is a good bleach, but if you want less damage, use the blue vario. I've never used the cool blonde additive, but it's used with the bleach for neutralizing warm tones when lifting. You must not use to much...

    Inoa O'leo gel?

Ah, thanks for letting me know. Its just that I used INOA for the first time a few weeks ago and was a bit confused. Sorry for late reply. For some reason I'm not getting any salon geek email reply's. Thanks again. Much appreciated. x

    Inoa O'leo gel?

Hi folks. Can someone please explain what the O'leo gel is used for when colouring with Inoa. The instructions say mix the Inoa tint with Inoa Oxydant. But says nothing about adding the O'leo gel which I have seen being poured into the tint mix on several video's. Thanks. Regards. :)

    Blondme help!

The ice can go too grey if left too long. You have to apply the toners very quickly and watch closely. Sometimes if you pre-bleach to a very very pale yellow, the cendre type toners will grab too much and appear dirty grey. Did you use the 2% developer? The blondme powder bleach has got a...

    Resistant hair

I have pre-softened in the past and used the ordinary 20 vol peroxide. I would apply the peroxide to the dry hair at the backwash/basin, blot of excess peroxide with a paper towel. Then lightly dry with warm air, then apply the tint. And as already mentioned above. You can use double base...

    Nutri-Ox system for thinning hair

Yes, I'll let you know how I get on with this. I bought it to try on an elderly client, but I have used it on myself today. God, you can really feel the fresh minty eucalyptus cooling effect on the scalp. My hair is tinted at level 8, and after using this product only once, my hair has...
