 Hi to All,

I have just recently started part time at a hairdressing / beauty salon, I was trained using creative liquid and powder system 9 years ago by a wonderful lady who was a great ambassador for creative at the time who I recently heard is no longer with us which is a great shame, anyway i stopped doing nails around four years ago and started a new job . The salon i work for now uses star nails and have just sampled the edge..I feel really awful to ask them to change systems as This is new to them and i am just starting and have not as yet built up a great clientel i feel a little unconfident but at the same time feel like I want to throw the lot out and get all the right products and services i know would make a difference and i am a very good communicator and get on with all the clients in the hairdressing side but as the staff and owner are younger than me I feel they may think i,m trying to take over rather than just being older and definitley wiser in lifes lessons good and bad and totally genuine ...
also can any one advise me on the edge products please .
Thanks for looking at my ramblings.x

Can you fill out your details on your profile please, with training, qualifications, products used, etc, etc
just the one word Bristol will not get you many helpful replies as we do all look at peoples profiles before giving advise to make sure we are communicating with a salon professional,
and welcome to the site,

Thankyou for your reply I will do and hope to speak soon

Hi she .. You must have trained with my dear friend Gillian Upcott who sadly passed away from a particularly horrible cancer more than a few years ago now. She was indeed a wonderful Creative Ambassador and she is missed by all her Creative friends.

Maybe you could gently persuade the salon to move along in their choice of products (which can be done gradually). If they have you there, then they must trust you to know what you are doing and there is a world of difference between the product lines they have chosen and the one you are used to .

At the end of the day it is all about the nails lasting for your clients and their clients and the longer the product lasts, the more your clients will love you and what you do and keep returning. That's good business.

Hello...
When i first started at the salon I was using the products my boss had from the previous tech.. I explained to my Boss that i was trained in another system and would be happy to open up an account with my supplier through the salon..
I was working as the only tech so it was easier for me, but at the end of the day why not just ask?
I have no experience with the edge so cant comment there, but good luck with your salon work and i hope you enjoy getting back into nails.. xx
