Hello again.
I apologise for all the posts at the minute!!

I'm practising smile lines and sculpted nails in between clients, both of which arent going very well. Advice needed!!!

For the sculpted nails, i cant seem to get the forms to the right shape to start putting acrylic on. Am i pinching too hard etc?!

Also for the smile lines, I just cant get it like i do on tips. Any advice on how to do smile lines with ease?!

Thanks in advance.

Kylie

There's a tutorial on here for smile lines. Search through "tutorials" on the navigation button. Hth's.

I found that different forms are easier to shape then others. I like the forms by The Edge. They have lots of friendly tabs that help to create the C curve for you.

Totally agree, it's much easier with the bigger forms (the ones with 'wings') Most companies do them - I use nsi platinum forms but will probably buy creative performance forms when I run out as I intend to convert from nsi to creative after The Event :)

I wouldn't bother with those skinny little things with no tabs. I could never get those to stay on.

Mind you, if anyone has any advice for getting the forms to stay on my friendly nail trainer hand then please feel free as I don't have any luck there at all

Cheers,
Hazel

Have you ever taken a class to learn the art of Sculpting or had a 121 class for skill building just for 'smiles'??

There are tutorials for both right here on the site and a copy of the book 'nailclass' (www.mundoproducts.com) or ( Sweet Squared 08452106060 to order) might help as it is all about the technique of making beautiful nails. Many have found it their bible.

If you are serious about learning the art then invest in your future by learning with a skilled tutor; it makes so much sense.

My nail trainer was not so good when I was sculpting so I stuck a form to a polish bottle opi was my choice and I practiced sculpts and smiles. (You put the form onto the handle/brush of a polish bottle) This will help a little but you do need to get yourself booked in for 121 it helps sooo much.

I am booked on the skill building course in November to work on sculpted nails and smile lines. The customer care person was really helpful and said the Class one would be better for me. I'm abit scared to do the 121 course, feel like I'll look stupid. So here goes to the class.
