hi there im not a nail tech so please bear with me and hope its not a stupid question!!
our nail tech (who is now gone might i add) didnt do any client consultations prior to treatments it transpired today!!
One of her clients who had acrylic nails put on on sat is allergic to acetone so she told me today when i rang her to cancel appt for infills!!
Excuse my ignorance but how do you remove the acrylics?
now desperatly need to find new nail tech!! ARGHHHH

well you can file off acrylic nails, but it will take you along time and its not very good for her nails all that filing, why dont you do her a patch test for acetone ( inside her elbow 24hrs +) and she what the reaction is. I have only ever had 1 client in 10years allergic to acetone. Explain to client if she picks, pulls and bites her nails off she will cause damage to her own natural nail

pretty rare to have an allergy.
filing off is the other option.
but i dont understand why an infill appointment is cancelled because of allergy to acetone. surely its the best way to avoid exposure to the chemical?

same as, how does she know she is allergic to acetone? do a patch test hun x

thanks will do!! dont fancy filing!

had to cancel appt as dont have a nail tech now and i cant do enhancements and was just curious as what you would if couldnt use acetone.
thanks for advice!
