I would love one to use for business but everytime I mention it I get told not to get one because they are more trouble than they are worth! The thing that appeals to me is the cheap running costs, can fill it to the brim for about 20 quid and tax is 35 a year (sorry no pound sign on this laptop) I would love a really lairy one that would get me noticed, might even get hubby to signwrite it for me :green: what do you think?? anyone got any experience with one of these?

Sorry hun ... but IMO they are not safe! If someone hit you fast/hard, there isnt the space that you get with a normal sized car!! I dislike everything about them, would there be enough space for your business .. is there enough space for a nail table?

I agree with running costs though hun, mine is costing me £50 to fill up a week now £95 tax for 6 months & it is getting ridiculous!!

I dont think that they are that cheap either are they?? I know most newish cars now are low emission with quite low tax, thats why I am thinking about getting a new car.

Sorry again hun ... just my opinion x x

yeah, thats the only thing, how safe are they?

dont do nails anymore so would just have to get my tent and spray tan bag in, plenty of room in the boot I should think... oh and a great big furry Malamute or two Lmao!!! :green: can just see him going along with the wind in his fur.... :green: he'd need a seatbelt though if i got a convertible one!!

Hiya i think there dead funny but everyone always notices them dont they you could get a bright pink one !! my friends got one she loves it!! im sure there as safe as any other small car. :green:

I dont really know .. I am accident prone & maybe think the worst but with the other half in the recovery trade I have seen some damage & always think of safety!!

Must admit though, I would like to see one with 2 Malamutes in LMAO ... my german shepard in my Audi A3 is quite funny!!

Then again for the business side, you will get noticed!!

I'd LOVE a pink one!!! would stop hubby nicking it too! lol

As you say though, they are quite expensive, even the old ones like a W or X reg are almost 3,000 on ebay and autotrader! and the ones I like are more like 6000 lol...

will have to keep saving...:irked:

My son has a black Smart Roadster Brabus. It's very cool and gets heads turning, but it's absolutely no use for anything practical - like taking his mother shopping (very small boot) , bringing his Granny over for dinner (too low), going to Ikea (no space for a flat-pack bookcase.......anywhere), & he can only pick up one friend at a time (only 2 seats).
Apart from that - it's cheap to fill, is reliable and is great to look at.
A bit like my son, in fact

I have one, in fact I'm on my 3rd:green:

Love mine. The roadster is low but my fortwo is high enough for even when I have a bad back. I can get a weeks shopping in. I can also get my nail table in too. I belong to www.kernowsmart.com we have lots of fun, have a look

my reg is D2 NLS - dellaz nailz geddit?

Get one you will love it.

I would lurve a smart car, if I was a mobile tech I would
definately get one. go for it!

Mercedes technology and swatch design, is a winning combo for me.
The entire car is built around a roll cage, so the idea is that the body panels will take the impact in a crash whilst you stay safe surrounded by your air bags and roll cage. The passenger seat comes out of the original one in order to give you extra storage. The engine is a massive 600cc:lol: so gives you a very small carbon foot print. You can actually park one sideways in a road side parking spot but, if you do, I would advise you to put it at the end of the row otherwise some one is bound to park close up to your doors.
I love the querky looks BUT:green:
The are the second most common car caught on camera for speeding and I feel that they are over priced, but they do hold their second hand value so good from that point of view.
I would however put it on a list of 3 to test drive the other 2 would be the new Dyhatsu, it takes first prize for the small carbon foot print and is in the lowest bracket for car tax, in fact its so good that the government is talking about taking it off the road tax bracket all together the web site has all the stats on its safety and it makes for impressive reading.
Third on the list for me is the New Fiat Panda I love its look and Fiat are very good on safety and again like the other 2 is low on the running costs etc.
On booking a test drive remember to take your nail table with you its no good buying the car and finding you have to drive with it balanced on your head.
There you go hun, what makes you think I've written one of these before:lol:

I'm after a fortwo cabriolet... :green: would have to be a 2007 as i've found my perfect registration number too!!! AB07 TAN ..... about tan! get it? pmsl that is 1000 on its own so it's not going to happen!

we do have a van aswell so trips to ikea and stuff would be ok and the kids rarely come anywhere with me now (unless they are after a lift!) :irked:

same here - my friend has one and its so impractical she had to buy another, bigger car to do her supermarket shopping etc xx

My Smartie fortwo is a cabriolet:Love:

My first was a 'cabbie', second one not, but quickly changed to third to get the roof off. The new ones are great as the first one left me driving in the rain a few times as the older style you had to stop the car to push the main bulk of the roof back on.

Now all done from inside at the press of a button:)

I love my Smart Car:Love::Love::Love::Love:
