My mum and I are setting up together :) I'm a nail tech and she's going to specialise in Skincare.

We have been discussing uniforms - I don't wear one (never have) but I am always seen in the same getup of black leggings, floaty top and black cardigan. My clients comment on the tops I buy and I've never been seen as unprofessional ;)

My mum would like to wear a tunic. Which is fine but I think as we are the same business now, we should match... And I can't wear tunics. I find them restrictive, uncomfortable, and they don't look nice on me (I'm a size 22). So I've suggested aprons or t-shirts, embroidered with our name/logo.

Which do you think looks more professional?

I have t-shirts which I use during summer and tunics for winter. I have my logo and shop name emblazoned on them all :)

Can we see a pic of them? I'm looking into purchasing new tops but not sure if I should go for tunics or t shirts next.

I wear a tunic or my apron which has my name and logo embroidered on it. People have commented saying I look very professional in both.

I'm a size 18 and wear either smart trousers and t shirt with an apron with my logo on it during summer or smart trousers and tunic with my logo on it during the winter.

My clients find either combo professional

Where do you get your aprons/printing from? I have been looking into this too.

Hi, i am a size 22/24 and i always wear tunics in my salon as i think it looks more professional ( just my opinion :smack:). I do facials, massages etc, and wear a different coloured tunic than that of my nail tech and also of my hairdresser as i think it distinguishes the different specialities and also its nice to have different colours for different personalities! I get mine from La Beeby as they provide the larger sizes but check your measurements as my La Beeby tunic is a sixe 30 on their scale x

I got mine from tip top embroidery (check out her facebook page) Lesley also sells the aprons and tunics too and they are very good quality and come in a range if sizes and colours.

She has also done stuff for other geeks too😄

i dont wear a uniform now either as i hate the tunics too but i do wear all black usually a black dress..however i went to an osteopath last week where they all had shirts with logo on and i realised how much more professional it looks. Now i know i always look smart in what i wear BUT i think logo items or a proper uniform do look much better so am going to order something logod from tip top one i have my new logo done.

whatever you and your mum will both feel comfortable in xx

I think like a smart t shirt, a polo shirt maybe?

I'm trying decide for myself too, will keep an eye on this thread x

I do love the idea of a T-Shirt, so does my mum! Though I love the apron idea too. Oooooh it's so tough isn't it?

Hey hun, I wear an Apron that I got from Tip Top Embroidary too xx

I've been thinking about getting some tshirts embroidered to as currently I don't wear a uniform I just dress nicely. I don't like tunics I find them restrictive but it never occurred to me I could use aprons =) going to look into that =) x

I love my apron. I can make a mess when using glitter or additives so I find the apron perfect for this. Why not get both? You could wear the thirst in the summer and the apron in the winter. I've added a pic of my apron which I had done from the fabulous Lesley at Tip Top Embroidery. She also has a web page along with her FB page. You can view all her items available on her web page.

How long are the aprons? I'm going to get one but dont want one that's too long. I'm 5ft 7ish!

Tip-top-embroidered towels
That should bring it up on Facebook.

I think there's an option of short or long aprons. I'm the same height as you and my short apron comes to about mid thigh.
