I'm really good at maths and love it. I've done maths at degree level and done it well!........However, I can't count for toffee! Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing - that's what calculators were invented for!
I bought my first calculator in 1974. It cost £5 (I was getting paid £60 a month gross then) and it could only do those 4 operations. It didn't even have a memory - that one cost £7. I bought it in the mens department in the local department store. They were all displayed on a stand above the gents trousers. No electronics/gagets departments in those days!

I failed my maths O level 4 times! Never got it - still can't add up even the simplest of sums lol my mind just goes blank as soon as I hear numbers but for some reason my son is a whizz at maths - must get it from his dad.
