Hi Everyone,

I need to know if I did this ! I qualified in June and have about 4 regular clients, I practice everyday and never forgot to stanitize, in fact I have OCD about cleanliness, anyway I first saw this client in early Dec she had a set of french Arcylic's every thing was good and before xmas I infilled, during this time she said she had caught her finger at work an it felt quite sore, I work with her she never mentioned anything, she booked an appointment this Thurs morning to soak off and re-apply. When I looked at her hands she said then I think I need this one taken off ( it was the one she had taught at work) well I soaked it off it was awful green and swollen the nail was all ridged and white, by the cuticle was a minute hole and nail was all soft and the finger under the cuticle was red and swollen too .... I soaked off all of them and gave her a mini manicure on the other nails and advise her too go to the doctors she wanted the other done but I said she needed to wait and treat the infection. She was fine and never seemed to blame me....
However I need to know when I in filled in december could I have caused the infection, although it has been 4 weeks and she never mentioned it before this week ! I feel terrible and don't want to do any more !!!!

I applied first lot, then she hurt her finger I checked when I re applied and nothing seemed wrong they was no swelling etc ! it seems to have happened within the last 4 weeks !

You guys really have to get over accepting blame for greenies.

They are caused by the spores in water, getting underneath lift and living in ideal conditions.

More often than not the lift is caused by what the client does ...... eg, if it was your fault, then they would all be green. (Makes sense to me).

The green is actually bacteria poo and is dead upon exposure to air.

Greenies are unfortunate, but you should educate you clients to notice any odd discolouration and come back to the salon as soon as possible.

On your part, you should prevent pockets of lift by perfecting you application and filing techniques.
