Hi,

I have been having some difficulties with Bio Sculpture Gel lifting on one of my clients. As I am still relatively new to Bio, any advise would be much appreciated.

At the moment, I have six clients that have Bio Sculpture NNO's .... and for one of my ladies it just doesn't seem to take to her nails. Is this just one of those things ... it doesn't suit everyone! It just seems a bit odd, I do them all the same, prep the same and apply the same!!! It's a colour overlay that she has (usually number 10) but after a few days thay are clean off .... and she assured me that she doesn't pick em off!!!!

The last time I did them, I made sure they were all capped at the end, applied and cured two at a time ... and still ... off they came!

I'm confuesd .... doesn't happen with anyone else, and I use number 10 on my own nails which last's ages. Can anyone help??

:rolleyes:XxX:rolleyes:

do you use exceutive base coat?

Where does it start to lift? Free edge or cuticle?
Is there any sign of trauma/picking on her nails when she returns?

what does she do for a living...???

Is she on meds?

This and all the other things suggested so far can have an effect, but rest assured it will be something in particular as as opposed to it being a Bio problem. Bio does NOT lift under any normal circumstances.

Hi there was a thread on here the other day , I think someone had a client that had lifting with Bio ,its obviously something there using,to me Bio seems to be quite sensitive to certain things,is she wearing rubber gloves excessily or ,I dont know if suncream would cause it to lift maybe?

Hi

Harsh cleaning products maybe? Maybe using different oils or products? Some products can make bio go soft, it is then quite easy to lift and once it lifts you do get clients picking it off.

A trick you can use next time she comes in is before you do anything wipe her nails with scrub fresh or a similar dehydrator (acetone?) that should show you if she has been picking as it will show up any damage.

I find it strange that every nail has every bit of gel off !!.....

Hi Fuschia,

I believe all the questions that the other geeks have asked you need to be answered - it could be a multiple of things that are causing the lifting. It simply is at this stage a process of elimination to find out the cause.

Bio Gel does not lift on its own... something (or someone) is causing this. You will have to do a lot more digging to find out as much as you can about your clients ritual once she leaves you (without sounding like you're blaming her!)

Her nailplate could be oily, she could be on medication, she could be using a product that is reacting.... Have you advised her to use nothing but Bio Sculpture proucts on her nails, from cuticle oil to Nail Polish remover...

If you've not had this experience with your other clients, I don't think it is something that you are doing..... try to find out a but more from your client and let me know what she says..... myself and all the other knowledgable geeks may help to pinpoint the answer....

I have this with one client of mine with Calgel. They never stay on.I now do her with hard gel and even thats been a trial. What i have to do is do each one more or less one at a time.I prep them all up to point of wiping with cleanser then carry on 1 at a time just briefly curing in the first gel layer until i have done them all and then i fully cure them all together.I also really really work the first layer of gel in.Once the first layer is on all her nails i can carry on as normal.

She has a set on now that she has had for 3 weeks and has had her first maintainence on...she has never had them on long enough to have any maintainence.

If there are such thing as oily nail plates she must have them and as soon as i wipe it is building up on her nail again this is all i can think of because i have been aware of everything else and made her aware of everything i can think of as to why they are coming off and they come off whole, she also cant keep varnish on.

You could try this way with bio it didnt work for me with calgel but i think this client is exceptional.
Fortunately shes been very good and let me persevere with her trying different things.

Thanks everyone,

In the response to the first comment, I don't use executive base. Well, I did do once .... but I think maybe I didn't use as much ... I only used a tiny wipe of the brush in the middle of the nail plate (as Bio advise) so maybe I could try using a little more of the product.

She works in an office, and although I do give an aftercare leaflet maybe I should advise more on wearing gloves and so on when washing/tidying up!

When I asked where they seem to be lifting, she wasn't sure. She just said she looks at her hands and notices some have come off ... and they don't leave any marks (you wouldn't know anything has been on her nails infact they come off that clean).

Next time I see her, I will ask some more questions about detergents/harsh cleaning products and so on .... and try the exec base again.

Thank You everyone

XxX

I wouldn't try executive base on a lifter. I skip it altogether.

Some people just cannot wear a soft gel. I have one client who couldn't keep it on (although there was always some on when she came back.) It always lifted at the free edge. I use a hard gel on her now and it's a dream!

Hi

I have had the same problem in the past with the colour Gel lifting from the free edge.

I also use the LCN range which I find so much better, but I do have a client who prefers Bio Sculpture NNO.

I was wondering if I would be able to use the bio sculpture but instead of using the sgel as a sealer, do you think I could use the LCN sealer?

I think this would be more durable.

I would love to hear your views on this and if anyone has already tried?

Hi I have had problems with a client where the colour bio gel if lifting at the free edge. I was wondering if I could use LCN sealer instead of the bio S Gel.

I feel it would be more durable and stop the problem. I have checked all my application and its to the book.
