Well....i have done it,and though i would share,i have booked and paid for my Biosculpture course:eek:....after the deliberating, the research, the help of several geeks:hug:....i have booked the course in March 10,and am doing the sculpture course on 11,in Fleet....oh well,i am going with an open mind on the training venue:confused:...

For me,i just lick my lips in anticipation when i see a pot of gel and a brush:eek:
as opposed to L&P...

I have tried a french bio and a dark colour on myself,in the recent past, they have lasted for 2 weeks before they were soaked off, were flexible which i liked, did not discolour, and did not lift.

I have assessed the situation in my area, and is unsaturated from Bio,and i have spoken with St Albans distributor for Bio expressing that i want good customer support, and am going to Fleet....it is only 45 mins from me...

For me Bio just gives me what i need as a therapist, and my clients needs, and the colours look amazing....and i have been told of the new sculpting gel that is forthcoming....and this, combined with other factors has won me over!

Thankyou to all the geeks who have helped me in making my decision....especially Oey,Noodle,Zingara,Fificharlie,

Whach out all gel geeks...over the next few months,i am asking questions galore...oh i am so excited:rolleyes::lol:

All I can say you are brave doing your sculpting course on day 2! Good luck!

Wonderful news Gabi....you'll be training with my gorgeous friend Esther who is just the loveliest thing about Bio Sculpture. Give her a huge hug from me and Morgandie!

I'm sure you'll love it....and you know I'm here for any questions or things you want to chat about....it'll be great to have yet another Bio geek! xx:hug:xx

Great news Gabi ... as another geeky member of the Bio club, we're very happy to welcome you and have you on board.

Great choice Gabi.
I love Bio too.
Just wait til you smell it - I know I am not the only one who loves the smell of her products lol!
... and I am always mentioning this, but somehow they make acetone smell good in their remover.... Love it! Where is the sniffer emoticon?

Smell it? Have you tasted one of the darker colours??....cured of course! I stuck a finger in my mouth once to lick something off when cooking and I could taste this sweet taste....it was the Bio, I swear. Can't remember which one...Claret i think, but Chocoholic tastes sweet too!

Honest, I'm not mad...I even saw another thread about once with people saying the same about Bio and Calgel!

You know - I thought it was just me! They do taste yummy after they have cured - not that it is a good enough excuse to bite them!

I know....after booking it i thought "what the hell,i love a challenge!"

I decided to wiait and get jan out the way,and could not make feb training due to hospital appointments, but am still going to excel prior to training.

I have gone for the lamp and starter kit,but will get some more colours at training,if possible....have not a clue what colours are popular, and if to buy in big sizes or not:lol:

I would definitely buy the colours in the small sizes if I was you as they do last a while and you could be stuck with some if your clients dont like them.

The colours that are most popular with my clients are: no 76 - clay oxide, no 22 ravishing red - no 74 real red, p5 seychelles sands, 2035 cast iron, and the new shimmery black starry night.

We have done a couple of threads in the past on which colours are popular so have a search around.

Am I missing something here? I've never tasted my gels, cured or otherwise!

Lol....I bet you do now though! Go on...just a little lick! Although I would stick to your own and not a client!

Gabi, my top colours are

7 Candy Floss - a lovely girly pink
9 Sweet Toffee - a caramel peachy colour, popular with the older ladies
14 - Jodie rose - a gorgeous warm rose
16 - Sunset shimmer - bright orangey red, fab for summer toes
19 - Pillar box Red - Real rich red
60 - Chocoholic - rich shimmery warm brown - prob my best seller overall at this time of year
76 - Clay oxide - coppery, metallic. fab for Xmas parties and goes well with the black shades to for an arty mix!
2015 Silver shimmer - nice and opalescent shimmery on its own or adds shimmer over the top of any other colour
2035 Cast iron - shimmery black gunmetal black...very funky
2053 Pink silk - a lovely silky soft pink for use as a colour or under french as a coverage pink. Great for bridal.

Hope this helps hun! xx

Ok, I thought I might be presumed a bit mad, but now I know I am not alone. IT DOES TASTE SWEET! I wonder if this could be worked into some kind of dieting miracle - just one lick of Bio takes care of those sugar cravings!

I find it with all the colours even clear.
You're right - good rule of thumb: lick don't bite!

Hiya!
I'm a new Salon Geek. Just like to wish you loads of luck for your bio training course. You sound like you are doing really well and getting the hang of the overlays already so you will be fine. The sculpting is more tricky but I don't think its a bad idea doing it the next day as when you go back for your assessment for the overlays you might even get chance to ask the trainer one or two questions about the sculpting that have arose if she has a spare 5 minutes. Where the sculpting is concerned if you don't feel confident to do a full set straight away you can build your confidence with this by doing the odd nail repair/extension on clients where say 9 out of 10 of their nails are a reasonablish length.

Me and OEY(Theresa) know each other from college and we both chose bio sculpture and ended up doing our assessments (and passing!) on the same day (Feb/March this year). Then we ended up doing the sculpting day together too and both received our "S" stickers! If your trainer is anything like Trish from Ellesmere Port, she will be fab. They show you two or three different ways to sculpt and you may adapt better to one than another but still get a really good result.

I agree with OEY, just buy the little pots of the colours. I usually buy in the varnishes first or ask anyone I can for second opinions on colours and then order the colours. Your top colours will change from season to season.

My top colours are:
Seyschelle sands for fingers all year round (looks fab with the little black cocktail dress for xmas party) and its also been popular in the summer (looks great for ladies with a tan wearing white etc).
Pillar Box red (No. 19) - this really popular for fingers at xmas and toes all year round.
Dark purple (sorry can't remember the number off hand, think its called midnight something) but looks ace on fingers or toes pretty much anytime.
Fuschia pink - great for toes Spring/Summer
New Albany Indulgance (No. 84) - great for toes all year round and fingers Autumn/Winter
- it looks just like a chocolate minstrel! Definitely good enough to eat but so far have resisted putting my tongue in the gel pot!

Any way good luck with everything!

Lots of love
Mrs Bean! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
P.S. I think any nerves OEY may have had about the sculpting course probably went out the window when I put her through a return trip to Ellesmere Port with my not so FABULOUS driving skills! My driving is usually one speed only! SLOW, SLOW OR SLOW and my map route planned for me by my ever so tolerant hubby Jonah had to avoid any motorway so as not to upset any other drivers by going too SLOW SLOW SLOW and seeing as I don't have a sense of direction either....... Jonah reckons I would probably make a good career out of driving a HEARSE if I ever decided to quit the beauty business! (How rude is that! Anyway it's not true cos I'd never find the flaming church!)

Hey Julie - thats a thought for those weeks when we are all quiet - driving a hearse around at least you wouldnt have to worry about all the nice talk to the clients all the time!

Hehe - only kidding!

welcome to the bio gang !

Im loving all the darks at the mo too

tell you what EVERYONE has been having its not a new colour - just new to me and its just GORGEOUS its 2000 - millenium lilac ! YUM

NO 60 gotta be the most popular then black aubergine and pinotage (no 10)

good luck with it !

There are not many colours then to choose from....er i think not:eek::lol:

Loving your avavtar Amber:hug:

As for licking and eating the colours:eek:

When i had mine soaked off i could not believe how quick it was....and i had mine in and out of water, but that was not detremental at all, does Bio go well with clients that have thier hands in and out of water?

My hairdressers swears by it. To be fair it doesn't last as long with her as with other clients - she starts to get a little seperation at the free edge after 2 weeks or so, but considering she had tried every other enhancment under the sun previously, and nothing lasted, she is very pleased with Bio. She goes for a colour so hair dyes don't discolour it, and I am extra careful capping the FE, with both the colour, the sealer and the top coat. And she is good with her aftercare....she uses handcream very regularly as her skin also gets dry.

So yes, pretty good for hands in and out of water all day.

I have a hair dresser client too, and like Zingara I don't advise french as it discolours. I am going to have to convince her to go for a coloured gel. She gets french and puts up with the discolouration but it looks dingy when she returns after 3 weeks. Going to have to get her into the colour range!
