BLACK SMALL PAPER BAGS - Can ANYONE help?!

Geeks I am going CRAZY.

I have been trying to get hold of some small, black paper bags, with twisted paper handles, around 5inches wide by 8 inches deep, with a square re -inforced bottom.

I have contacted nearly EVERY 'bespoke bag designer' in freeging England - and discovered that if I want my Salon name and address printed on these bags in hot pink - I'm looking at about £1500.00 ! For 500 bags?!

I had to re-think my plan.... so I decided to get PLAIN black paper bags, and just get some personalised labels, black with pink writing on and stick em on meself! - A good Idea?

But NOWHERE in the uk stocks the size I need as far as I can see! Can any of you geeks out there reccomend anywhere to get these from? Small sizes?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

If the £1500 is too expensive for your budget, why not consider changing your specifications slightly?

That might make it a bit cheaper for you, however, if you need to be so exact... and it means so much to you... then why not just pay the £1500?

CadenceAlex - I have spoken with the companies today - they have reccomended various things.

wot a load of plop. i buy the reinforced high end laminated bags with rope handles like you get at harrods etc really big for my clothes shop and have them done up with co name etc. I have to order 1000 and they cost around 1000. for something smaller they would be a load cheaper. Its the plates that cost initially approx £150
I buy them from thos normas but i have loads of contacts at shop
ill get them tomorrow and pm you with details.
you should be looking at 500 at most but as most bags are imported from abroad as cheaper to do that it takes 3 month for delivery

dunno how many you want but have you tried confetti ?? they do all sorts of stuff and i am sure they do bags about that size !! , hth dee x

case i was holding it all day and my hands were filthy

yes and thanks from me too, I have wanted to get some brown paper bags for ages, sick of using plastic bags for sandwiches and now I can have some, feeling very environmentally friendly now

Try an American company www.myownlables.com I use them and they do loads of great stuff to spec and don't cost the earth, delivery is also really quick.

This is a good point. If you have black bags and they are not laminated or properly varnished to seal the ink, then the ink will rub off. Can't see it pleasing a client wearing white trousers!

We've imported literally hundres of thousands of bags from China - and there are some fantastic products available. There's also some real garbage. Sometimes it's worth paying a little bit extra.
