Today I did a bridal make up trial with airbrush make up. The bride has a skin issue and started getting acne a few months ago which has left scarring and some nasty looking blemishes. She has been given medication which she has been taking for two months but this has really dried her skin out, on top of which she has been told to use an oil free moisturiser which clearly isn't helping. I started by applying her eye make up which took some time as it just didn't seem to want to go on nicely and because her skin has become dry her eyelids have gone crinkly so it wasn't easy getting a set line with my mac teknokohl. The shimmer eyeshadow I used on the inside of her eyes didn't want to stay put and the blending took some work! I then applied cluster lashes and the eyes seemed to pick up which I was pleased about. I moved on to the airbrush make up but no matter how hard I tried I just could not get it to completely cover a recent blemish on her left cheek! I felt awkward with the application anyway because she had a tan last night but didn't have any put on her face, so I was colour matching to her body and I felt like I was putting loads and loads on and not getting to the right result. I showed her and straight away she said there wasn't enough coverage, she wanted more coverage and more blush (which you'll see from the photo is probably required) but how do I get the coverage she wants without caking her in the stuff?? We sat and had a chat afterwards and she understood that the problems with her skin were causing some issues with the make up. I felt really bad about it so I offered another trial free of charge (which I have already been told off for!!).....I've attached a picture, feedback greatly appreciated as usual, please be nice though, feeling a bit sensitive!
