Hiya,

I have a bit of problem with removal of gel. I use Brisa gel. I have no problem at all removing L&P, thats grand just comes right off but with gel i find it so much harder.
I tried to remove them on my own nails last night. I buffed of at least 70% of the gel, i dont want to file anymore in case i damage the nail plate. Then i soaked them in my product remover which i had placed in double dippers which were in bowl of hot water, left them to soak for 15 mins and tried to prise off with orange stick, some of the product same off but some didnt. So i then tried the foil method and wrapped my hands up on
Wheaty bag to keep hands warm but again after another 15 mins a little more of the product came off but not all.
I didnt want to keep at them because i dont want to damage my own nails, but im not sure what i am doing wrong, anyone else have this problem? Im afraid if someone else asks me to remove gels the same thing will happen.

My nails now have loads of little bits of gel left on in places.

Would appreciate your thoughts.

Murnettie.

It sounds like the gel is applied a little too thick.

Brisa gel is very strong and you only need to apply in very thin layers.

I think it buffs off beautifully... I've never tried soaking it off though (I know you can but I've never needed to)

Not sure about Brisa but with the gel i use 'Unique' i have to buff it off completely - it won't disolve.

Anyway i think buffing it off would be better than prising it off with an orange wood stick ??

I to use Brisa Gel for a removal I buff off I would say 98% of the gel and leave a very thin layer on the nail plate.
I have never soaked off to be honest I have never needed to as buffing is so easy.

Hi all,

Ok that makes more sense to me so, i just assumed that you had to use remover to take it off like the L&P. I knew you had to buff most of it, im just terrified of buffing too much, my worse nightmare would be to hurt someone or damage their nail plate thats why i stopped buffing after about 70%. I would just worry that if someone came to me and asked me to remove them and i said i had to leave a thin layer on that they would get annoyed no? its ok? if thats the case it makes life a lot easier! Thanks for this. I will go though my workbook and notes etc again tonight and brush up!

yep yep defo only need a thin layer of cnd gel its got a good grippin rate hunni lol but like karen said it buffs off lovely i been using it for years and havent yet done any damage buffin off xxx

Just make sure to change grits as you get near to the nail plate.

If I was removing gel completely I would start with a 100grit and change to a 240 and then a 180 sponge buffer when I got near to the nail plate

Ok thats brilliant, will do that so, i wish i had asked the question first before going ahead!! nails look so messy now with just little bits of gel here and there, cheers.
