But how do you keep the water warm?
I have the Beauty Express bowl which is non electric but I can honestly say I don't have a problem with the water getting cold. After the initial soak of about 5 mins, then rasp and exfoliator, I clip the nails and then that is the end of the water, I take it away. I haven't really looked at the clock but I would say their feet are in the water for about 15 mins max. I also start with it quite hot, I think it's more effective that way, as long as the client isn't uncomfortable.
I did experiment with a mask the other day, on a friend (I don't normally use masks as my pedicure's are quite reasonably priced and because I do lots of them I don't want to increase the price) Anyway, I took the water away after clipping etc. put the mask on, wrapped the feet then after 5-10 mins of mask I got fresh water
This was fine although obviously added time and expense...
I'm actually really happy with the bowl I use, I have to say, after the palaver I used to go through it feels like freedom. The only thing I don't like is the fact that I throw the liners away after a single use, which is not good for landfill. But I have to weigh that up against chemicals going done the plughole, which is the alternative:green:
One other thing I like about the non electric bowl... it doesn't make that dreadful noise!!!
