Afternoon, Skin Geeks! ;)

I would be interested to hear feedback from any of you who have invested in this system... http://www.thecomfyclient.co.uk/

It looks super comfy, but I wondered if it is as good in 'real life', and how practical it is to work with day-to-day?

Thanks, in advance. :)

It's on my shopping list! Not used it myself, but have had a massage on one of the systems and it was great, really comfortable , felt really supported, and didn't have that "couch face" thing ( you know , where you feel all congested after an hour face down!) when I got up .

Hello :)
I use the comfy client cushion for every treatment and can honestly say i dont think i could manage without it now!

My clients love the cushion, they've said its so comfy and even during the waxing they're practically falling asleep! The clients who have the body wraps love it as it stops them feeling like they need to fidget after laying down for so long.

And as for doing the treatments it makes things so much easier on you as its easy to use (and easy to clean), it helps you get your hands under the clients during a facial when doing a scalp a massage so you can get in deep and firm without having to strain yourself. Plus, i can easily work around the client knowing they are comfy. Some of my larger clients love it as you can pull the arms out and give them arm rests so they can completely relax while you pamper them.

Plus, if you do pregnancy massage this is a must have, all my ladies have told me that the cushion helps take the strain off their backs and supports them in all the right places and if any clients have scars that are still sore, the cushions when arranged properly can help take the strain off which leaves your client pain free.

I really hope this helps you decided about the cushion, this cushion should be a must have for all therapists, my clients love it and for the amount of complements I've had about it it was the best investment i could have done, completely worth the money. It certainly lives up to its name of the comfy client!

Thats funny how the above poster is from staffs (where it's made) and her only comment is about the comfy client hmmm...

Anyways I had a hot stone massage by the lady that made this and yeah it was comfy, I have heard it's a little pricey... cant confirm this though.

Not sure why that matters. Have you not seen the advertising for Swissdermyl products, CND, spray tans etc.... you can't get away from them. ..at least this product is different. ..

Hi there

In response to your question, have been using the Comfy Client Cushion system since I purchased it at the Hair Beauty & Holistics show in Birmingham earlier this year (3013).?It was a bit of an impulse buy as I'd never seen anything like it before, but I have never regretted this purchase. It has been really good value for money as my clients love it and continue to make return visits, book courses of massage treatments and often comment about how comfortable they feel. I highly recommend it and couldn't imagine not using it now. It is easy to sanitise and shows no sign of wear despite the fact that I have to store it folded in half! I just love it and so do my clients!

Cat x

Just to say, I have been using the comfy client for about 3 years now. I must admit, I at first hesitated at the price, but took a gamble. I have no regrets at all! I am a sports massage practitioner, and many of my patients comment on the comfort of my couch. It makes my job easier, as they relax more. I did make extra covers for it, but I believe now it comes with wipe over covers?
The cushions themselves are showing no signs of wear, and get used every day by both myself and my associates. I can honestly say, I really would not like to work without them. I hope this helps anyone who is looking to invest in their clinic or salon.

I purchased a set of cushions when the first came out and I would not be without them at all.

They are used for all my clients doesn't matter if I am working from home or mobile. I have so many compliments of how comfy they are including from my pregnant clients and also when doing male massages.

The outlay is minimal when you realise how many clients you get booking repeat treatments because of the cushions. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. They are even better now with the material which makes them easier to clean!:)

Sounds like an interesting product for massage. Apart of the new geeks have any other massage therapists used this product and is there any feedback for the cushion?

Would be interested to hear if there are any lash technicians that use this? 2.5 hours is a long time to lie on a couch and a lot of my clients struggle and fidget, even with a bolster. SO am thinking of investing.

I've seen this type of product around for a while, there are several versions in the USA and also the sports therapy arenas. To be honest as both a client and massage therapist (massage was my speciality for about 6 years) I've never seen the need for it.

Over the years I have massaged pretty much every imaginable body size and type. I've found all I need is three hand towels, two pillows and an adjustable head rest.

With these I can position my clients prone and supine and give them as much support as needed.

How easy is it for a client to turn over with this? And does one size fit all?

As a Holistic Therapist in Bath I would not be without the Comfy Client Cushion System. I use it for all my couch treatments - reflexology, massage, reiki and more. Clients love it as when lying prone they can dangle their arms over the edge of the couch and they do not get pins and needles. I can place a hot stone
so that it warms the sacrum without the client feeling any discomfort. Easy to clean with a great carry/storage case.

As someone who has also received a lot of treatments I can say that many times I have felt uncomfortable on a couch but have not said a word to the therapist - I just didn't return. I think it is false economy to buy a cheap couch and then expect a client to lie on it for unto 90 mins and want to return for another treatment. So personally I feel it demonstrates excellent professionalism to invest in good quality equipment that enhances the client experience and for me, and my clients, the Comfy Client Cushion System does just that.

I do lash extensions as well and the clients love the cushions, it stops them form getting any aches that come from laying in one position for too long.

And i've not had any issues with different size clients as its flexible, i tell the clients to lie down them adjust the cushion around them, if they are a bit bigger ill pull the arm rests out before they lie down.

When it comes to turning the client over is not a problem I just ask mine to sit up so that the cushions can be adjusted to support them correctly in the supine position.

My clients don’t mind doing this as i explain what its for and it gives them chance to clear their nasal passages if they felt slightly blocked from lying in one position for up to an hour.

I tend to make it make it part of the treatment by spritzing a very fine mist of herbal water to cleanse their chakras, this gives me just the few seconds needed to interlock the cushions (you get quicker the more you practice) The only clients that struggle to sit up are the heavily pregnant ones so I just get them to turn over and I slide an extra pillow under their head and pull out the legs of the cushion to give them arm rests.

The best advise i could give anyone who is considering getting one is to have a look at the website, there is loads of testimonials on there that helped make up my mind about getting one. And the woman who made the cushion does go to different beauty shows so you could always ring and ask what shows they're at so you can have a look before buying one!

It's obviously much more popular than I could ever imagine as there seem to be an awful lot iof new geeks that think it's a wonderful product! So I must take a closer look at it. What does seen a bit odd however is that whilst the geek skills have been completed for most , those that did have not ticked massage as one of your skills....

I'm not entirely sure what the connotation is meant to be here, but I've ordered this today, I specialise purely in eyelash enhancement, have no affiliation whatsoever with the product/company, and I will feed back on how I find it :)

Just revisited this thread, and I see what you mean Jack! Like I said, have never used it as a therapist ( massage and complementary therapies are my thang ! ), but have had a massage on one of the systems and it really was nice.

I have no links to the company either, was just commenting on my experience as a client :)

Hi, I am new to Salon Geek and am from Embrace Sports Massage and Holistic Therapies. I have used the comfy client cushion now for 3-4 year and would not be without it!! My clients feel so much more comfortable on the couch and no delicate areas of either sex are squished! ( I love that word). As far as I know I am the only therapist in my area that uses the cushion system and this makes me stand out from all the rest.

I have had many treatments in a variety of salons/spas and I am always uncomfortable on the couch but I met up with Carol May at the Holistic Health Show in Birmingham who introduced this amazing product to me and of course you have to trial before you buy! I volunteered to trial the cushion whilst at the show during one of her demonstrations and afterwards I felt great! nothing squished!

I can treat all shapes, sizes, and sex of clients without being restricted. I can even treat my clients back whilst they are lay on it! All that I wish was that I had found it earlier! It certainly is hard wearing. It was quite funny this weekend actually as I am on a clinical acupuncture course and took it with me. The other class students requested to take it in turns so that they could have a treatment on my couch!

Don't hesitate in buying the cushion as you won't be disappointed!!!!

I don't do eyelashes but I do perform a hot stone therapy treatment lasting 2 hours! I can assure you that the Comfy Client Cushion is well worth having. I use to agree with the other therapists on here when they say that they didn't have a need for it and that they managed fine with out it but I can assure you I was soon eating my words! As a therapist, you get used to what you are comfortable using BUT its about your clients comfort! I always asked my clients if they were comfortable and they said yes but when I purchased the cushion system they said they felt more comfortable. Turning over on the cushion is easy, I ask my client to sit up whilst I rearrange the cushion then they turn over. It takes seconds and can be used for heavily pregnant clients too! The cushion supports the bump! I would recommend visiting the website and view the video so that you can make your own informed choice!
