hi,
i was taught on my course to work on a dry nail when doing enhancements so not to use cuticle remover.
From reading lots on here it seems you all use cuticle remover, i've mentioned in previous posts that i'm having lifting probs, could this be a factor?
i'm using the edge but going to experiment with different brands to see which ones i like.
thanks

Yes it could be a factor as if there is a large amount of true cuticle on the nail plate a dry prep can struggle to remove it all.
I only do a dry prep during a rebalance saying that if I feel there is more true cuticle than Id like I will use cuticle away.

thanks for your reply, how would i add that into my prep? just the same and squeak after as usual? the reason my tutor gave was that it puts moisture into the nail and the enhancements won't bond as good.

there is a tutorial on here by geeg, perfect preparation....sorry can't add links on my mobile, but if you type it inot the search you should find it, and other good threads about prep.

No! lol i will give it a go next time thanks

it was dull, the new cuticle was showing and the eponychium a bit low.
He removed the cuticle, pushed back the eponychium and buffed to a high shine.
He made them look NEW again with only 2 products.
That's what's amazing.

well i've just done a few nails on myself using cuticle remover, i'm so annoyed that i haven't been doing this the whole time, it made the whole process quicker-i used to spend ages removing the cuticle (well i thought i was!!) the whole nail looks completely different to how they looked before, alot more crisp and clean, time will tell if i have any lifting-if i do i'm at a complete loss and can only think it is my product because i know i have just done everything spot on!

I use cuticle remover and never have lifting problems. :)

Once I discovered wet-prep and cuticle eliminator, I never went back to dry prep.. (ok, I do get lazy with my own nails LOL)
I LOVE it and allllllllll the gunk it gets off that dry prep often misses
AND you don't have to bust your nut to get all the cuticle off WITHOUT damaging the nailplate. The solution breaks it up for you, and you can remove gently without etching the plate.
Wonderful stuff!!

Just be sure to cleanse the plate thoroughly after, and dehydrate before applying new product. Be sure all traces of the remover are gone.
