Hiya all. to all of you who use dermalogica prefessionally . Regarding the
Exfoliant Accelerator 26 I usually combine it with different dermalogica exfoliants ( skin exfoliant system, daily microfoliant ...etc). Can anyone tell me whether I can use it alone or not? and if so when can i use it alone? I have 'The Book' but it doesn't answer this question it just mentions to use it with caution when used alone.

thanks

EA26 has been replaced by AE35.

You can use it straight. I would recommend it for coarse and rough skin. I would use it on a client who's skin I know very well.

You should always do a patch test first.

Double cleanse to remove the exfoliant properly.

I have never used the EA26 alone as it is a very very active product. As a Dermalogica account holder you should be able to ring them and ask.

I agree with this. I only have one client that I will use 26 on undiluted and she has been a client for 2 years and has a facial once a month and has very course, sun damaged skin.

I would never use it on a new client, its the sort of product that I introduce to clients after a few facials.

Depending on which version of the book you have it should have a chart with the bio activity of each product and how to use, i thought ea26 was on it ? im sure it is in mine.

I'm curious to know the ingredients of this product is it a strong AHA or BHA? :)

lubna I just thought you can log into the Dermalogica website to get the product instructions, as the book is online.

Weezie, I will see if I can find ingredients, im not in salon at mo but wil see if I can find any info.

Exfoliant Accelerator 35 has a Bio activity of 35 and is the highest in the Dermalogica range.

It is an AHA and should only be used on its own on a skin that is very sun damaged, thick, leathery skins.

It's ingredients are:

Lactic acid, Papays juice enzymes, bacillus ferment, citrus limonum(lemon juice), olive leaf extract, salix alba (willow Bark), Galactoarabian, Hexanoyl dipeptide.

I attended a day at Dermalogica 2 weeks ago and we went through this product in depth as it has taken over from EA 26.

thank you all for your replies. Actually the version of the book that i have does not state usage of the EA26 on its own. only mixed with other exfoliants.
I was actually thinking about trying it on myself prior to trying it on clients' skin since i know its quite active. I have oily skin .. i do get the occasional big spot here and there.. but I wouldn't describe it as rough or coarse skin!
Does anyone have anidea what it would do if applied directly to flared spot?
I usually have EA26 mixed with the exfoliant system for my skin .. which is fine .. sometimes I feel I need something a bit stronger.

Thank you all

Hey

My advice to you would to be pop onto the Skin exfoliant class! They'll explain everything and show you too!

My fav place to use EA35 neat is on the feet - so soft!
