Hi please help me get my head round this, Ive got a lady this week that wants mani and a pedi, never done both together IMA...which one do you guys normally do first ? and any tips on saving time, was thinking of starting to soak the feet whilst I start the manicure...but then Im worried water will be cold by the time I do the scrub,...any ideas or shall I do them completly seperate.

Well I would do them completely separate.

I would start with the CND Spa Manicure first and finish off with the gorgeous relaxing CND Spa Pedicure ....

You may have trouble waking the client up afterwards but at least it will give her toenail polish time to dry!!

I always do the pedi first which gives toenails plenty of time to dry and then make them a drink whilst they have their feet up. Then I start the mani..........never thought of doing it the other way round:)

I don't think it matters really, whatever suits you or the client but definitely separate services ... it would do my head in to have a therapist doing both services at once.

See this is the way i also do it :) saying that its because i enjoy doing feet and i find it very relaxing myself :!:
And yes you have to wake clients at the end :wink2:

It seems like a very good idea to do the Pedi first as it gives the polish time to dry but then if the client is wearing flip flop then it's not an issue.

So guess it's down to personal preference or client preference.

I also do them seperate, may I ask why you would want to save time ? Has the client asked for it to be shortened ? If she is paying the full price for both treatments why would you want to cut the treatment time down ?

I usually do the manicure first then the pedicure as I find my clients are more likely to smudge there fingernails than toes, having said that I do have a few clients that I will do the other way round if they have forgotten flip flops or can't wear open toe shoes for any reason.

My thoughts exactly.

I always do mani first, so they can organise themselves without dinging their fingers.

I get the foot bath up and running before setting out my stuff, this gives their feet time to soak and you can move straight on to the pedi when you're set up.

Karaxxx

Some clients prefer not to wear flip-flops in the winter .... brrrrr !

I start feet first, winter, spring, summer or autumn. Not only does this allow additional drying time, but gives the client the option of wearing flip-flops, sandals or hog-nail boots!

I also would do them as 2 seperate services though sometimes we combine a spa pedi with a basic manicure and perform the mani whilst the masque is on then do the polishing after.

When I've had mine done, I've always had the pedicure first; like people have already said, this gives the toenails plenty of time to dry; even in flip flops you may be unlucky enough to bash your newly painted toenails on something, especially if driving back home...

I always ask the client what they want first. I usually prefer to do mani first but ask them anyway.
