Hi everyone, this is my first ever post :)

I've just started doing mobile beauty after qualifying last year, up until now i've really only worked on friends and family, but today i had my first 'real' client!

I've just completed her bikini wax, I was panicking all morning as this was the one area we didn't really get much training in at college, but it all seemed to go ok, the only thing is it ended up taking me about 40 minutes!

I just wondered if anyone could advise me how long this should really be taking me and if you can reassure me, that with practice i will get quicker!

thanks!

have no real advise to give sorry!

At college were you taught to trim the hair before the wax? I wonder as i wasnt and wondered if there is a specific way you should do it?

Maybe thats what took the time, or did you just do a little bit at a time to be safe rather than sorry in which case your timing will come down considerably the more you do. After half a dozen bikini waxes you'll be a super fast whizz!

hi, was it just a basic bikini line, usually it would not take that long, but with practise your timing will improve, also it was better to have spent the extra time and done a carful and good job and hopefully have a repeat customer from it rather than to have rushed it and damaged the client

Hi

I find that all my wax timings are a little on the slow side and I've been waxing for a while now, one reason is because i take a lot of care espcially on the bikini line and two because I talk so much whilst I am doing it - none of my clients have ever complained so dont worry too much as long as they are happy and hair free that is what matters - although remember to give yourself an extra 5 - 10 mins for each appointment:hug:

Im not the quickest waxer in the land ..... nor do i want to be yet lol

Im new to waxing too and client care, stretching and as painless as posssible is the most important for me at the moment.....

Everytime i book a bkini wax in ...... a panic comes over me & its always fine when im doing it .....

I have even had comments like wow you are really good at waxing ... I only qualified late last year...

Got one in about 2 hrs time lol

Thanks for all the speedy replies!

It was just a straight forward bikini wax and luckily it wasn't too, how should i put it, overgrown :o so there was no trimming involved! I just did a little bit at a time to make sure i didn't go wrong!

I'm glad to hear that speed improves with practice!

Try to aim for a 15min appointment slot for a basic bikini. If possible, use non strip wax (hot wax) as it's much gentler and there's no soreness after. Lovely to use too. xxx

You will find that non strip wax is so much easier (for most) in the bikini area, and once you learn how to fully support the skin you will be able to apply long strips of non stripwax all the way from the top of the bikini line to right down to the bottom. You would then take it off in several pulls... moving the support along with the strip until you have completely removed the strip. Maybe this is something you could consider when you have mastered your strip wax and supporting the tissue.

But your times will definitely improve with practice.

Good luck with improving your times.
