Hi I'm opening a beauty salon in the next few weeks and and can't decide on which facial product to use Eve Taylor or MONU range. Can someone please help me!!!!
'It looks' more expensive - thats a great reason to make a decision on. So when your client comes in with a problem, as long as your product 'looks like' its going to work then there would be know need to know whats actually in the product??
I would advise you most certainly go with the Eve Taylor range - I've used the Susan Molyneux ranges before (Monu, Renu etc) IMHO they are OK, however they have quite a few ingredients I like to avoid. I've had huge success with Eve Taylor in my salon both professionally and on the retail front as the price range is affordable for all - the products are also very natural which is what people are now after. They have a no minimum order so I would advise you to purchase a small amount and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed ,hope this helps.

Yes, packaging is incredibly important - and the importance of it is something that cannot be underestimated. A lot of people actually make their purchase decisions based on product packaging.
For example I know people who love Australian Bodycare products, and think they are great for afterwax retail. But they don't stock them for the simple reason they can't stand the packaging.
I don't dispute the effectivness of ET products - I've not used them as they aren't suitable for my practice, MONU aren't particularly either, and i'm not a big fan of their Male range.
The product ranges chosen just reflect several things about the salon:
1) Price ... they need to fit into the target market ceiling price
2) Results ... are clients looking for quick fix or long term results
3) Experience ... do they smell nice, are they too perfumed for your clients
4) Design ... does the design of the product fit the look of the salon and its market
And one of the hardest things about choosing products for your salon is that you need to be buying a product your clients will want to buy! You need to be passionate about it in order to sell it, but there is no use in having a range you love but is wrong for your clients.

Can you say which ingredients?
Hi Zo Zo,
It's not really practice to be bad mouthing products etc so I won't list them all out here if you don't mind. One of the primary components they use which I stay well clear of is the wax known as Isoparaffin or Mineral Oil - over time it becomes a comodogenic and will lead to all sorts of problems, breakouts reactions etc.

I think i have come to the conclusion that cosmetic grade mineral oil is different to raw crude mineral oil,so i tend to have an open mind to this and the percentage used.
To the original question i would say try both brands, see what results you get and then make the decision based on your budget and needs you want to give to your clientele.

Have you requested information packs / samples from both companies?
I have limited experience of Eve Taylor (although not none) but I am aware that Susan Molyneux have a very broad product range, i.e. the Monu range which incorporates professional and retail products for the 3 main skin types, also their Prescription range where you can tailor make massage mediums and masks for individual clients using extracts. They also have a range of products for electrical facials and microcurrent. Also a range specifically for mature skins (Renu) and a range specifically for men(Vitru.) There are also body treatments and essential oils.
So, all in all, lots of scope when your salon grows, to introduce new treatments.
In what products do they use mineral oil? I am 99.9% sure (although I admit I haven't checked) that they are against the use of mineral oil.
