Eyelash course today....feel totally ripped off :( what to do?

Hi everyone,

I attended the Marvel Lash course today and paid £260 as i arrived. Only to be told half way through the day that we wouldnt be getting our kits (which were included in the price) as they were held in quarantine, something to do with the glue not being right.

I actually heard about 'the glue problem' about a week ago and rang salon services to ask them b4 i booked on the course, the manager assured me the issues had been resolved and we had new glue in our kits.

The girl who trained us only had a tiny supple of remover, 1 set of eye pads not enough of each kind of tweezers so we all had to pass around and share which was a pain.

We practiced on eachother and then went home, no remover given to take off the eylashes (which wernt great) so now i stuck with them on.

Got home and thought about my day and feel really disappointed, we wernt even given a manual or any kind of booklet, everything covered was really brief and to make it worse iv just looked through the course guide only to find some of the subjects that are listed wernt even touched upon.

I struggled to pay for the course n feel completely ripped off, had a few ppl lined up this weekend to practice on n now i have no kit? they cant even tell me when it will arrive?

What do i do? Very bad day :cry:
 
I'd get intouch with the company and complain honey.
Sounds like a total waste off time and money.

oh dear what a shame....if you are able to get up to Glasgow in a couple of weeks time Louise will be up there doing training and I would be happy to get you a place with our compliments which should go some way towards getting you up and running.:hug:

Has your supplier given you any indication on when there expecting to let you have your kit???
 
Its open til 6, just so happens i left my watch there so going to pop up and speak to the manager to see what they can do, to be honest id even have a refund n give up the certificate, feel like i need the training again anyway, and would rather go with another company. xx

same happened to me when I did a hot stone massage course with a well known cash and carry/training venue in Coventry. They assured me on booking that they had stone sets in stock for me to purchase.
Turned up for the course, popped down to the wholesalers to check the status of my order to be told a delay in getting it. I think I waited 6 weeks, no apology, no refund, no discount.

You SHOULD have received a training manual of some description. Tell them in writing that you want a full refund otherwise you will report them to their accreditation company and also trades description. Take up collins generous offer and start again. They seem well dodgy.
 
The thing is that its is so important that (non brand specific) that we all rally together and help where genuine help is needed,...that's what makes this industry stand out and above the others...and of course this site :hug:
 
i cant believe how badly they have responded and to tell you to remove the lashes with nail varnish remover!!!??? im still in shock, good luck on your flirties training you will love it. xx

on a serious note this just goes to prove that not all companies are a rip off and that WOW Products, Flirties and their trainers genuinely care about their trainees and a willing to go that extra mile or so for people.

Thanks every 1, especially collin! :) Have to go back in the morning to see the manager about a refund i shall let you know what happens. Il pm my number now louise, thanks for your help :) Any favours, promoting flirties etc in my area let me know i owe u! xxxxx
 
I hope you get a good result tomorrow. Lucky you getting free training after am awful day.

I have just done my flirties training with Lou she is awesome, your going to love it!!!
 
Update: spoken to the manager at salon services, she says she will not take resposibility for it and would not refund my money but i have to contact training solutions who actually did the training. spoken to trading standards who said that Salon services must deal with the problem as all my correspondance went through them and they took my money. Have to now write to their head office and ask for a refund. i also asked if she would give me some remover as my eyelashes are still on, she said no. anyway will get writing this letter n let u all know what happens. thanks for all the advice xxxx
 
Just out of interest, did you pay for the course by Credit Card?

It seems to me as a case of 'you have paid for something that you did not receive' and so therefore may be able to do an indemnity claim from your card company?

Is a debit card not the same where thr refund rulings apply?

It is so awful that you have placed your faith in a company and not been given thier full attention and knowedge hun,

The saving grace is that you will still be able to get wonderful trianing with Lou - soon as I complete my nail training next year and save up again, I shall be travelling and booking my course with Lou also :)
 
Ah bless you hun! Sounds like you lucked out with your training! I do hope that it hasnt put you off of lashes. They are a fab treatment to offer! If I were you I would bite collins arm off for that training offer!!!!
