Hi Everyone,

I did my first eyelash perm on my friend last week since leaving college and we were both really pleased with the results. It gave me a much needed confidence boost but when I saw her last night she said "one of the girls at work has hers permed and they seem curlier than mine". The only thing I could say at the time was that her eyelashes are really short and fine and that the girl must have longer lashes:eek: it was the only thing I could think of at the time. I used the smallest rollers and as far as I'm concerned did a good job, it's just that now I'm thinking did I do something wrong? I looked at them again last night and they do look good.

Does anyone have any ideas?
Do you get a better result the longer your lashes are?

Thanks.

Like you said, everybody is going to get different results depending on their own eyelshes, mine are very long and i use the largest rod but on my right eye i could stil do with a bigger one  the tips of my eyelashes curve right up to my eyebrows after i've had them done, where as my sisters are short and are straight as opposed to curved so when i do hers she only gets a gentle lift compared to the results i get!

Maybe next time you do them you could try using the next size up if its possible or use same rods again and you might see more of a promonent (sp) lift.

if the lashes are too long, they may end up looking like Fozzy Bear, so there is a happy medium......

Imagine if the lashes were so long they curled all the way around those little rods?

You have to use your professional opinion and state the expectations to the client, not voice your insecurities.

Everyone wants perfect lashes, yet don't have the basic foundation for them.
Everyone wants perfect nails, yet don't have the basic foundation for them.

You can only do so much.........

I provide a service and help ......., not a miracle.

Of course if your lashes are longer they are going to look better permed or un-permed.
Sometimes I think people expect to much. I think your advise to her was spot on hun. You cant work wonders with something that is not there! xxx

If you use the next size up then you will get even less curl as the client has short lashes.

Ensure the rods are placed as close as possible to the lid to give maximum length of lash to then wrap around the rod.

I have very short, sparce lashes and have to have the smallest rods.We always follow our perms with a tint as this really emphasises the lashes/perm however mine never look as good as someone with fuller/longer lashes.

You could recommend she use clear mascara to give more definition as well.HTH

well did the friend pay as she doesn't sound very nice moaning lol We did tinting last week at college and you could tell on everyone and all looked better but some who had longer lashes looked better than the ones with shorter we are doing perming this week so excited:) I loved the effect they give

Thanks for your comments, I know I did everything right it's just sometimes a little comment can really make you question yourself.
