And my take on your page? Looks OK, if a bit minimalist so far... you could do with a wall post or two, e.g. giving details of a special offer or new products, and you should definitely "pimp" the site to your friends too (as I am so far your only fan on there)...

i'm a fan! keep adding new updates all the time. I've got an actual profile for the salon. Its been going a month and I have loooooaaads of appt booking sfrom it. I updateit all the time, and am always adding friends of friends of friends that are possible future clients, and fellow nail professionals too. Get some wall posts on it, and lots of fans x

Definitely put your June special offer on there (and any subsequent special offers)... keep updating the gallery with pics too, and add descriptions for each pic too...

Hi Keely, good luck with your new mobile venture, I hope it works out for you, it is a shame the other place was no good. I have a facebook fanpage too Tans2go | Facebook but so far I havent got any work from it boo hoo. i sent out an email to everyone in my friends list but it only lets you do this once. I keep updating my own profile page by telling everyone about my offers and sending them to my fan page by putting an @ symbol infront of it, it gives you a link.

I had a look at your photos, and maybe it is just me, but I really dont like the photos of the hairy leg you have on, it gives me the creeps lol. I personally dont like looking at my own unshaven bits so definitley dont like looking at anyone elses lol, but that is MY opinion and may not be the general consensus of everyone, I would try and find some other photos to sell your business.

I think there was a thread on 'chat' on here that had everyone listing their facebook pages. Might be an idea to join some of them and see what others do. I did that and you get some fab ideas for promotions/advertising etc.
I'm off to join yours as there was only 3 fans when I looked earlier lol xxx

I've joined too. I try to do something once a week or so on my page (thought this was a decent timescale, so's not to annoy people by my page popping up on their newsfeed all the time).

How do you add a profile for a salon or mobile service? Is it like opening a new facebook account? I have tried to do this and it wont let me:o I like the idea of adding friends friends but at the moment with mine I can only add my friends as I only have a group page? xx

To create a 'person' profile, you need to log out, then create a new profile using the 1st bit of your business name as your 1st name then the last bit of your business as your surname. (It won't let you add 'and' though so one of my pages is sparkle glitz as opposed to sparkle & glitz!)

Yep its a whole new profile. Just think of the name wording carefully. I'm first name: serenity nails / second name: skellow. So it makes it easy to find. i'm pretty well known anyway so I have a good start. I then went on my own friends list and added everyone from that. I then added mutual friends and it went from there. I think its hit and miss with extra business, some geeks aren't getting anything from theirs, but I get loads. I put all my offers on, if I have any, trainee offers, and I also remind them of my prices and services. One tech, not sure if it is a fellow geek or not, i've noticed, has regular competitions on there, asking questions, and picking someone out of the correct answers to get a freebie. Seems to work! x x
