Facial Waxing

Just need a bit of advice please, have got a lady booked in for eyebrow, top lip wax which I'm fine with but she also wants the hair on side of face waxed. I've never done this and wanted some advice please!

I know that it is not a good idea to recommend facial waxing but this is a cousin of my friend who is on holiday from Australia and gets this area waxed regularly, so it will just be a one off for me. I haven't met this lady yet so not sure how much hair there is, my friend just said that her cousin has this done every few weeks as hair is dark.

Any tips greatly received thanks.

Hi doll. If you're not used to waxing the face, do smaller areas and stretch the skin to support it. Be quick and work in a set pattern so you don't lose where you're at.

When you've finished, cleanse again and rather than put on after lotion, appl;y a thin layer of Savlon.

Always remember that when you do facial waxing, your client will walk out feeling so confident and that's because of your work. Facial hair is an awful confidence crusher. Be brilliant! xx

I use a disposable headband to hold back all the hair. Don't want to make any mistakes by taking too much off. Headband holds the stray hairs away.

I only use hot wax on the face. Not strip wax.

I have a client I do regular facial waxing on and the transformation it has given her is wonderful. As Kim says,, boosts the confidence!!!
I work in small sections, non strip wax and a lovely cooling lotion afterwards.

Yes i agree, facial hair is one of the meanest areas and once we discover its there we feel everyone will see it and it makes us very conscious!
I would only use non strip wax, with a good layer of oil underneath, stretch tightly and apply some good after wax lotion to calm the skin but with the right wax you wont have too much irritation or redness anyway,

Hi Shelly, facial waxing is a very popular treatment, particularly in the Asian community, so is always a good service to offer. Also as we ladies age we can get a bit "fluffy" around the jawline lol. Having this removed sure does boost your self esteem.

Work systematically and quickly. As your lady has been waxed many times before she should be fine.

Dont forget to remind her to protect her face from the sun for a day or so.Coming from Oz she may not realise how strong our sun can be even when overcast at this time of year.

I also have had a client booked in for this kind of treatment, I use tea tree cream wax, if I was to work as advised in small area's and be sure to hold the skin taught when removing the strip is it ok to use, I was not trained to use hot wax and so have never used this method, thanks x

It is perfectly fine to use strip wax,I have been doing ladies for years using strip wax with no problems at all,I tend to let the wax cool just slightly(on the spatula) before applying to the face,remember to cut the strips to size and avoid getting wax on the hair,I don't use a hairband but if you don't then make sure all hair is off the face.Non strip is kinder though.HTH

Yes of course (if that's all you use). Remember to blend the hair by dabbing your strip wax randomly to blur the line. Nothing worse than a bald upper lip a fluffy cheeks. x
