Hi there this may seem like a really stupid question but I just received some files through the post the other day and they are all the same colour and look almost identical. How can you tell the difference in grit I just really can't work out between 240 and 180 and don't want to use the wrong one when prepping on natural nails. Thanks Lucy.

the 180 is a file...it will feel fairly rough if you run your finger along it, the 240 is more a buffer....it should feel soft like theres no grit on it when you run your finger across...............sorry im not great at explaining things!
 
Just run your finger across the file, the 180 will feel rougher than the 240, hth :hug:
 
the 180 grit ones will feel coarser if you rub them with your fingertip.
the 240 ones will be a little smoother.
 
Higher the number, smoother the grit
