My coinfidence was well up when I finished this set in 45 minutes, the shortest time ever

They would look so much nicer if you made the white free edge a lot shorter by at least 50%....the ratio of pink nail bed to white free edge is totally unbalanced, how did you do a full set in only 45 minutes?

The free-edge is way to far down the nail bed and the nails look very hippy at the sides. Tell me your 45 min secret lol

I agree with Anna, white free edge way to long..xx

I agree smile line is too low, white needs to be ½ of what it is now and more of your pink will give you a much better balanced nail.
But how do you manage in 45 mins??? What is your secret????
Keep going you will get perfect nails soon.
x x x  x x x

I agree with everyone there is just too much white which makes the nails look very unbalanced.

i agree that the smile line is too far down the nail bed. i dont think the white free edge is necessarily too long, i think if the smile line and apex were placed correctlly and the shape was more consistent this length of free edge would look fine.

This is true but given the shortness of the pink they still would look much better if the white was shorter.

I agree with much said so far. They would look much better if the white tip was placed further towards the natural nails free edge. You'd get a much broader and more useful critique if you post pictures showing all the nails from the top and side views as well.:hug:

I think they are very nice! although Im pretty new to nails (sort of) so I dont know all the technicalities and stuff.
They are pretty well done x

I was taught (many, many moons ago) that the white should never be more than 1/4 the length of the nail bed. I think you did a lovely job but they would look nicer if the white were shortened. Keep up the good work. :)

I agree with everyone here although sometime's it can be hard even though you think it's just a matter of looking at the nail but it's not.

Mine sometimes end up like this but i only do them on myself.

The shape and finish looks v.good but wow how did you do them in 45mins?
You did prep right??

It's great only taking 45 minutes if they look great but will they last long and how long till they start lifting would be interesting to know.

Keep up the good work.xx

I agree with everyone else, far too much white, and also the nail needs to be shaped better down the sides. They look a bit fan shaped, apart from that they look nice. AS everyone said how did you manage 45 mins, did you use white tips and clear, because this would be quicker but not as quick as 45 mins. tell me your secret.

Ayisha - your nails are way out of balance but the clarity looks OK. They are very Egyptian Hat esque. I worry about 45 minute timing. Dont cut out important PREP procedures and go much thinner, less white and shorter.

Way to go for having the cahonies to post!! :!:

Glad to hear your confidence is building ...... but don't focus too much on the time thing. I can't do a really good set of nails in 45 minutes (unless I use PopIts) and if you added a bit more time to get the details right, you would have an even better set to look at and admire.

Take the time for the details:

Making sure every nail is the same shape.
Making sure each free edge is slimmed down and made to look more slim and sleek.
Shorten the length so that all nails are the same and the proportion is prettier with the pink.

This would, I think you will find, take your time up to the hour or one hour 15 which is the accepted standard time that your industry sets and recommends for a hand made set of nails. If you work much faster, something is skimped on and the details should never be skimped.

Good for you for posting and on the positive side, If you completed the details, I think you would have a set worthy of praise. (It is actually the angle of the camera/finger that has caused some of the nails to look foreshortened by the way).

I'm not a Profi but I agree with everyone else, far too much white.

Looks good! Slow down a bit and give your self time to make them GREAT. Looks like you missed some Acrylic in zone 3 (I see it most on the ring fingers. Looks like there is one clubbed finger? My daughter has this and it can be hard to work on. exstand the nail bed a bit and it will help :). I am working hard on gettng my smile Line more "happy" I find that if I use a nice "happy" tip an then use the white over it as a guild my sculpted smile line gets better a I get more of an eye for it. :green:

But I think you are doing a great job and you will only get better! Thank you for sharing! It helps those of us that are still learning see things from a dif point of view!
