Now I know what to do as went through it on my training but that now seems a lifetime ago and its my very first rebalance on a client! Am I over thinking it all. In my head its file down to a thin film left and apply L&P as normal but then I start panicing as - well I don't know - maybe I have heard about peoples nightmares with their first client rebalance.

It is only file down and re-apply isn't it, obviously not filing any natural nail. If any are totally destroyed beyond any recovery you soak off and if they are split or cut across say I would just sculpt if say half the tip is still on?

I know I know I am a worrying mess.

and breathe!!!
first of all well done to you for getting them to a rebalance stage!!

next , when you see them, assess the situation then,
work out which ones ( if any) are beyound repair, if there are any thin down quickly and get those soaked off in cotton wool /tinfoil method,

if there are any that need corners repairing etc by sculpting ignore the broken bits until you are ready to apply product,
the rest, thin down where you need to , and dont make more work for yourself than you have to
dont forget to prep thoroughly as before, then when ready to apply product remember,,,,

TINY BALLS!!!!
this is not a new set, and you will have product left on the nail, so alter the size of bead to allow for this, on the ones with broken bits resculpt then

i hope thats made sense
and good luck you will be fine xxxx

Brilliant thank you so much hunnie, will be re-read your post quite a few times before the rebalance I feel. :)

oh god, if id known you were going to take that much notice i would have written more!!!

thing is i do rebalances day in and day out,
some are easy , some are hard work,
i wish i could stand over you and help you, but sometimes, its having the ability to assess each nail individually, and apply all your knowledge to each bit

hope that makes sense to!!
any time mate just holler!!

I'm glad you beat me to it:green:
Until I read Gigi's (geeg) rebalance tutorial I used to take ages to do the deed but after reading it I found I could do one in on time flat, well less time then a full set lol
Its all about doing what needs doing instead of what you think so if you do everything in the correct order you never find your self doing the same work twice.
He he is this the same Mrs R who did the mani and pedi course because she was convinced that she couldn't EVER do a full set:lol: How great are you:hug:

My sets still aren't great hun and I am still charging training prices and not doing L&P's on anyone other than friends and work people - only doing the manis and pedis on real clients.

I used white on her tips originally - is it possible to them use off white or do you need to stick to the same white first used?
