Hi all,

wondered if you could help me.

I use bio sculpture gel and noticing that just after a few days clients and my own gel looks like it is starting to lift at the sides. It looks like the gel has been on for a few weeks rather than a few days. I am using bio sculpture tips with them aswell. I have only been trained since may so it wshoudn't be my bulbs.

Please help, they look lovely the first day they are done.

Thanks

are you making sure that the gel doesn't touch any of the skin/cuticle? the only time i have had bio sculpture lift is when it has been touching the skin.

another thought, is your prep thorough enough, ie removing cuticle from nail plate, buffing away shine etc.

what do you mean they look like they have been for a few weeks, can you explain alittle more please hun.
i got in house training on bio. i found if you use the excuetive base coat and dont buff the shine off that causes lifting. so my salon stopped using the base coat all together and we had no more troubles, maybe just check your not getting to close to the side walls, or your colour gel is going over the clear gel.

xxxxx
hope you get it sorted hun

thanks for the relpy. I try and make sure that no gel touches the skin, i make sure i go round the nail with a cocktail stick. Maybe I'm not getting rid of it all properly.

Hiyah

You maybe experiencing lifting due to your PREP, take us through of what you do before applying the tips and gel hun as we might be able to see virtually where your going wrong.

Are your layers going on too thick so not curing properly.Maybe the edges are thicker than the rest of the gel and not curing. When you prep are you holding back the skin at sides to buff and dehydrate right into side walls.

No i don't use a base coat as i found that lifted them too. What do you mean by the colour gel is going over the clear gel? Most of my clients have french. Maybe i am too close to the side walls, but i do go around the wall with a cocktail stick. Confused

I'll show you by step by step for french overlays with tips, don't know if this will hep lol:

I sanitize the nail first, push cuticles back, file natural nail, apply the tips, cut and shape, blend, sanitize, apply clear gel, cocktail stick, cure for 2 mins, apply white and cure x2, apply clear gel, cocktail stick, sanitize and apply top coat.

Am i doing anything wrong?

Thanks for the reply. No i'm not holding back the skin at the sides, i'll will try that thanks. Maybe my layers are too thick, but as i'm new to this i'm not really sure if they are thick or not to be honest. So.. if it is too thick will it lift? Maybe I will try and apply less, just to see if that is the problem.

Thanks xx

This may sounds stupid but are you taking the shine off the nail before applying your gel ?? Just couldnt see it mentioned in your step by step post.
