I've done a search and can't find anything relating to this!

son has a circle of wax on his coat, he lean't back on the massage couch at work and the lid off the wax pot was lying facing upwards.

any ideas of how to get it off?

Put it in the freezer - when its set (frozen) it should just pull off.:)

I think it depends what wax and what clothes.Ive quite often got it on me but it does seem to just wash out in the washing machine.

What i have done in the past is put two pieces of fabric wax strips either side of the stain on the material so the material is like a fabric wax strip sandwich if that makes sense. Then iron over with the iron on a low setting and most of the wax will come off onto the wax strips.

That has always worked for me so give it a go.

ok.
I've tried putting ice on it (covered with a towel).

Its not even my wax, I don't do waxing, its in the spare room that he inhabits when I'm doing a job. Not sure what wax it is, its the normal old fashioned stuff.

will try the iron method, will have to 'borrow' a wax strip thing when I'm in tomorrow and try it at home.

anyone know how to get candle wax off a painted wall?

I think you'd need to put the whole garment in the freezer to get the temperature down low enough. What is it with you and wax? Guess you'd have to be creful with the paint or it might feel off. Maybe try the ironing suggestion? xx

It really does depend on the type of wax and luck. I've ruined loads of clothes over the years and yet some just comes off in the wash. Even if you manage to get it off, it can stain. xxx

Good old white spirit always worked for me.

I have tried the freezer method and it didn't work!

going to get a waxing strip from work today and try that.

then it will be surgical spirit.

then it will be washing.

white spirit being the turps kind. Just a bit on a cotton bud and rub it in. Comes off a treat.

oh! righto!

surgical sprit or wax equipment cleaner. i would leave the coat in a warm room so the wax actually softens, and then with a cotton bud just rub over the wax, it should dissolve it. careful though as they can leave an oily mark, but it should wash out. shouldnt bleach the coat or anything though.

if i get wax on me i just spray surgical spirit over it and it comes off. (usually on my top while im working, i just just spray it and give it a rub!! i am left with a wet patch, but it dries quick enuff, an its never ruined my cothes. lol)
