Well it does take time and allot of practice. Also are you using a very good qulity brush that suits you? Dont get up tight about it, relax. Allot of us have struggled with the same thing.

yes i hear what you are saying about practice and all that....as for the good quality brush i am using a kolinsky not sure what size it came with my course so i guess investing in another better quality one would be well worth it. is there one you can recommend? also thanks for taking the time to reply.

jo:)

it is so hard isn't it but i wish you all the luck possible with your smile lines and hopefully with alot of practice we will both crack those tricky little things and have perfect ones soon :) dont know if the power of pma will work but im gonna keep thinking that way

I'v bought some white deep smileline tips. I'm using those as practise, i follow the smile line and its working. Its helping with brush and product control. I was practising today, my smiles look really good, lol. I'm going to keep practising for a few more days then try to do smiles on normal tips.

Like everyone has said its practice practice practice!

But get a load of cheap tips and some blue tack and sit down and get cracking!

Keep all you tips and you will see your improvements

You have to practice a lot! I also bought tips from the dollar store and used the blu tak like other have suggested. I started with NSI and it toook me awhile to get my smilies.

Keep practicing:hug:

I love using the reverse method - laying down the body of the nail first. It is so easy to use my brush to form a perfect smile line - then all I have to do is ram the white up against it and I get a perfect smile line every time.

One step that I always make sure I do is to run my file around the smile line of the product to make sure it is smooth before I put the white on.

It has saved me so much time doing this way.

Hi there,

Can someone advise me on a good technique for cutting a perfect smile for the silk system please. I have just watched the tutorial but it's for L&P.

x

what do you do at the moment?

what do you do at the moment?

I cut the Wells :Scared: and I HATE it, lol. I'm doing the acrylic/silk system.

I don't (imo) have a problem blending or putting the silk on, but those damn Wells (smile lines) give me nightmares, lmfao.

do you mean with sissors? you can use your file to take out the well area into a nice curved smile,
or use well less tips lol but im guessing as part of your corse you need to learn how to do it,

I've tried filing it and I struggle with that too, lol. I've also used the Well less tips but I still have to cut a bit out to meet their free edge. I really would like to get to grips with the cutting technique. Running away from it isn't going to conquor it. I'd just like to know if anyone has any particular way they cut, lol.

Oh well , i dont know many (any) people who do cut them most use files if anything at all,
maybe try diffrent types of sissors or nail clippers.

Hi there, the way I am improving, is simply by practising smiles, constantly. I just get tips and do smiles, without worrying about doing the rest. I found that when I suddenly got the mix ratio right, my smiles improved. Also keep photo records, because you may find that you still think they are rubbish, but they have improved no end to when you first started, and that in turn gives you a rush of confidence and because you are not stressing so much they get easier iygwim:D
p.s. have you thought about doing a one to one with your trainer?

Hi bitzybob read the million dollar smile line tutorial and do EXACTLY what it says and i promise it works. After years of trying (of and on) and only getting it right by accident i can now do it . As geeg says its no good practicing the same thing and expectin different results if your not doing it right in the first place.I'd got to the point where the mention of a smile line brought me out in a cold sweat and seriously, my hand would shake. So take Noodles advice and do it the gmg's way, god i love that man lol.
