Hi,

I have the above heater. Just opened it up; I trained with a 500cc Hive heater.
In the 1000cc instructions it says you cannot insert a plastic tub of wax into the heater; you must put the wax into the metal bucket with scraper bar.
Is there any easy way to do this, as the wax is very very solid!?

Or can I put the plastic tub directly into the heater? I am abit gutted actually as I probably should have bought a 500cc one in that case!!

Thanks for your replies.

Leonie:cry:

Hi i have the 1000c heater, i switch my heater on then get the wax plastic tub, tip it upsides down and lean it on the scraper bar.The heat from the heater will gently heat the wax and it will start to pour out of plastic tub into the heater... please be aware though of the amout youv got in the heater and what you are melting into it.Sometime when you are topping up there may be too much wax in the plastic tub and could overfill the the heater which is a pain then to clean out as it runs down the sides inner linning! trust me i know iv done it lol good luck xx

Hi,

Thanks for your reply...I am banging my head against the wall here!
I am abit annoyed to be honest as the Hive website doesn't make it clear that you cannot directly insert pots.

I live in Greece and so cannot send the 1000cc back and get the 500 so now I will have to buy an extra metal bucket and keep one for warm and one for hot. Wish the buckets had lids to keep the one not in use clean and hygenic!

Luckily I don't think I will be doing too much warm wax spatula work as I have the roller (which I find a breeze to use).

Okay, I will now attempt to decant my hot wax into the bucket.

Thanks once again.

Hi
Just wanted to say thanks, because I also has this heater and was wondering exactly the same question. It is a nightmare to get out of the tub and I am a newby waxer.:)

Im really ot sure if you heat the plastic tubs up but thats how i do mine... when the wax is nearly all out whilst its still warm i get a wooden spatula and just scrape the rest out as its warm its nice n easy xx

Am so glad my wax comes in metal tubs!
I have 2 hive 1000cc wax heaters-1 for strip wax and 1 for non-strip wax. I just place my warm wax tin straight into the heater :)
Thalgo sell empty metal tubs so if you can manage to transfer your wax into one of those you can then place it into the heater in the metal tin.

I currently have three 1000cc heaters and 1 3-chamber roller heater. I wouldn't want to be with less heaters tbh! I have two non-strip waxes, and one strip wax in the 1000cc heaters. They aren't expensive items to get (£42.50 from Beauty Express), and if you have at least two (one strip, one non-strip) it gives you the opportunity to use both waxes in an appointment. And it lets you have both heated all day for any last minute callers.

And the idea of the 1000cc heaters is that they hold more wax!

Dear Calla

You win todays prize for making me laugh! What a total idiot I must seem. Of course cling film!! You wouldn't believe the fun I had transferring my wax last night! I do not have a microwave so there I am with my plastic wax pot on a metal cookie cutter, inside a large pan of boiling water (ala melting chocolate!!).

But I finally did it and its all in now! AND I was really really pleased with my hot wax practice session; it went really well and my husband is now practically hairless! Hee hee....

Thanks again...
