How come i cant tan as good?

Morning all

well little cheesed off lately. usually when i spray tan myself with la gold i come out a lovely dark brown. but the last few times ive sprayed myself im tanning quite a few shades lighter you can hardly tell.
Im not doing anything different, same soaps, no moisturiser before etc. I know its not the solution as my clients arent complaining and are tanning nicely.
also got the la 12, the guide colour went on me gorgeous, it was a really dark brown loved it so was hoping I was going to turn out a lovely colour, but when i got my bath it all come off pretty much, im about as tannned as an 8.
cant get my head round it. really gutted as everyone i spray goes brown and im not!

any ideas anyone? surely my skin isnt used to spray tan now?

Are you shaking the solution bottle to mix up the DHA before dispensing into your spray gun cup,
we all get a bit lapse when doing our own treatments, hth

i believe the 12% from LA tanning is double dipped meaning that it has extra bronzers in it to make the guide colour really dark. Once you shower alot of this will come off and you will have a lighter tan. The 18% is supposed to be double dipped too but not too much comes off so its still dark underneath. I didnt like the idea of clients being disappointed when it washed off to be much lighter so i only use la gold and disco xx

yeh i give the bottle a shake. read that on hear the other day, must admit hadnt really done that before I read it.

its my skin not taking to the tan all of sudden i think, my clients have gone lovely brown colours from the la gold. think I will try the 12 and 18 on my friends 1st.

i noticed the 10.5 was turning out lighter and lighter on me the last few sprays and it wasnt me getting used to it, you wouldnt even think i had been sprayed. i used to go a really dark colour and people would always ask had i been away and lately no1 has asked me that!!! :lol:

the 12 literally washed straight off and left a very faint tan on me as does 10.5 now. so gutted! :cry:

could it be my hormones or anything, my skin just does not want to develop the tan now. I hate not being brown now! spray myself every week.

It could be that in your mind's eye your face is pale whereas this might not be the case due to you tanning every week. If only you could compare your colour now with the colour you had before you had your first tan.

Hope this makes sense but what I mean is that you are getting used to having a good colour and and anything less seems really pale to you. The fact that no one has told you you look like you have been on holiday for a while is prob because they are used to seeing you with colour all the time now?

my friend goes the same colour as i did off the la gold an two days after i sprayed her i sprayed myself with the same and she was alot darker. my skin looked not much different than without a tan.

so i know its defo not the tan its me! :cry:

I know you have said you are using same soaps but by any chance have you used Dove recently? I only discovered last week that it strips the tan.....:hug:

must admit that was the 1st thought that came into my head. not on any meds just pill but Ive been on that for years same one. I have the odd bit of stress here and there. no major changes though.

Soaking in the bath can fade a tan too. :hug:

haha im blaming my skin! haha
i noticed a post on here just then about someones machine splattering and they got told to run limescale through it. maybe I need to give my machine a good old clean. Their post shows a picture of their machine and mine is exactly the same, as mine splattered my face with tan at the weekend!
