I used to go into each section, Nail Geek or Skin Geek etc, and read the threads that looked interesting. Then I discovered "Find New Posts" and started reading everything.

More recently, I've changed my settings to auto subscribe to threads I post in and going to Settings and reading my subscribed posts first.

Then I noticed "Thread Tools". Under here you can subscribe to a thread without having to post. I have to say, I'm loving this function. I subscribe to all threads that looking interesting.

Last week I discovered you can also subscribe to Discussion Groups and last night I discovered you can subscribe to blogs too. Although I'm not sure the blog bit is working for me.

So now when I go to Settings it shows me all the threads I've subscribed to that have new posts and also new posts in the discussion groups. :green:

This is how my viewing of Salongeek has evolved in a year. How do you use this site?

no way, didn't know you could do all this stuff! How do you subscribe to threads?

I'm I being thick?

Hello Chick, can I just say my GOODNESS ME how organised are you !!!!!!!

And secondly how do you find time to read everything lol
Are you being a sneaky geeky at work again
As for me I'm still fumbling about the site and have only just come across the blogs.
I never seem to have enough time to read through everything I want.

First I log in click on what's new and have a look through until a title jumps out at me.
Or I see a thread by a geek I like then I will have a wee look to see what they are up to.

Then I have a wee peak in Albums

Then onto blogs....now I know about the nice people on there
Sometimes I even subscribe to threads but then I forget about them.

At the top of the page, right hand side it says thread tools

click on the drop down down box and select subscribe to this thread

Wollllla your done.

You will receive up dates on your settings page x

A while back my day job wasn't holding my interest at all and I was sneaky geeking practically all day. I was reading just about every post. Day job has changed now and I don't get in as much sneaking as I'd like.

I love the blogs section, but loose track of what I've replied to. So subscriptions here would be good.

Well I look at my subscribed threads, as in the one's I've contributed to, I haven't yet tried subscribing to other ones, then "what's new in the last 24 hours", then click onto the "blogs" I too have tried to set up to subscribe to blogs but it's not working for me either?????

When I first started using the site I read through loads and loads of posts, then started always looking at "what's new".....it's only quite recently that I've discovered how to subscribe to threads and have ventured into blogland. xx
