I have a HVLP 5008 and have only had it a few weeks. I spray warm soapy water through it after I have done 1 spray tan and when I have done a night of a few spray tans, I totally dismantle the gun and wash every bit with warm soapy water, however i have started to notice the spray that comes out is hitty missy. What can I do to resolve this?

I only ever run warm water through my gun to clean it then run it dry, perhaps it's some thing to o with the soapy water?

I only use water to clean the equipment to,maybe is the soapy water hun x

did you try wiping the needle over whilst dismantled it may have a build up of the sugar x i use hot water only also...

hmmm, it was only a tiny bit of washing up liquid, I could have sworn at training they said to flush through with warm soapy water but i must have misheard. anyway i thoroughly rinsed it with warm water and fully washed all the bits and dried them. I will have to have another go and see if it was just the way i had maybe tilted the gun which resulted in the straw not picking it up equally.

Hello I just use hot water also after I have finished for the day :)

I dont spray soapy water through my gun but I do soak the dismantled bits of the gun, needle etc, in warm soapy water before rinsing and drying them and putting it all back together...I flush the gun through with plain water.

Dont forget to clean out your filters if your machine has them too! x

Also check that your needle hasn't become damaged at the tip and also that the nozzle hasn't become obstructed. Also check that the pick up tube and seal are firmly in place x

you really only need to run water through your gun at the end of each day and fully strip it down occasionally.

The trouble with washing through with soapy water is that the soap can possibly congeal and cause problems for you

Over cleaning equipment can ,in some circumstances such as hard water areas cause you as many problems as not cleaning your equipment.

It is also advisable to lube your needle after you have done a full strip down of your gun...again especially in hard water areas.

Unfortunately I had two 5008's that did this within weeks of purchase which is why I hate them so much, and I know it is not my maintenance or the way I am using it. Got rid of both of them and went back to my T200.

make sure the pot is really tight, if the pot is loose then this will cause miss spraying as air leaks out of the seal, the system works by pushing air into the spay tan cup and when you pull the trigger the solution is forced up the rubber tube, the 5008 is really robust and its very hard to over tighten the pot, We always keep one of the spare cups filled with a very light soapy water and blow it through after a session we have never ever had a problem with using soap and water
