i am only trained in l+p and today for the fist time i had a new client come in for a file and polish. She had fiber glass enhancements and they looked lovely, although the texture of them while i was filing was similar to l+p.Is there a great difference between the two? are they more popular in certain areas? ( i live in tenerife and this was my first client with these) and is the technique straight forward or abit figity? (is that a word?!?)

Fiberglass and silk wrap resin is MUCH softer than L&P- they are closer to the consistency of gel in that aspect.

In my past experience, wraps are not very durable or have much longevity. I would rather apply gel if a client wants something that light, and give them flexibility in the process. :)

I trained in silk and fibreglass but from choice now only offer gel and l&p, because I didn't find silks/fglass were very durable.

However I wonder if maybe it's down to which product range you choose to go with, like with anything there can be huge variations.

Ruth (Nails in London) I believe bases her whole business around fibreglass and is totally booked out, I think!

Fiberglass can be very fiddely to apply, but once you have practised with it, it is fine.

It can be very strong on people who want a NNO and just some added strength for their own nails, but it isn't quite as strong as L&p or Gel, but then it does depend on what make you use.

I used to use Star Nails f/g and found it needed to be soaked off after 4 months depending on the client caring for them. I use EZ Flow f/g now and found it to be durable, lasts well and doesn't need soaking off at all. It is down to client care too as f/g can be effected a lot by chemicals, detergents etc very easily as f/g can be very porous.

i did use to offer fibreglass as i did training for it but i dont offer it anymore as i just didnt have any call for it.
i used elegant touch by nsi and i did really like it although it can be abit fidly to apply.it does have a real nice finish to it but i just found that in my area it wasnt what my clients wanted.
