hello
Do you work as a nail tech who concentrates on enhancements only or do you all offer manicure treatments too?
thanks

As a professional nail artist I offer (as you would expect) everything. If I didn't I would not consider myself a fully competant artisan/professional. Frankly I would feel embarassed to say, "sorry, we don't do manicures here !!"

with the job title of nail technician i would guess that most people would presume that you would offer nail enhancements and also offer natural nail services inc manicures.....i know from a customer perspective i think i would. I offer manicures pedicures and enhancments.
HTHs

I think you have to be able to offer ALL services as a nail tech. I started with the basic manicure and pedicure and moved along...there's so much to learn tbh. I never realised until I started my first course.

Fair enough lol i love your honesty :)
Reason i ask is when i had acrylics (had to have them removed because of my job!) i then went back for a manicure for a wedding and i had to see a different lady, in a different area of the salon, so just wondered if people specialise in one thing and refer clients accordingly!
I agree, i def want to be qualified to do both!
xx

I also think you should offer everything :) i have just this week taken 2 bookings for manicure and pedicures for mothers day :)

i offer all services in nails including manicure and pedicure.
i find the demand for manis and pedis very low and i only do a few a year, whereas i work at nail enhancements all the time.
it feels like quite a treat to perform a manicure, i find it quite relaxing.

Hi Susan (everyone),

I do it all and find that the majority of my work is manicures right now. Enhancements are a ball season thing here where I am (ie. June-July)...and I find that I actually enjoy doing manicures and pedicures....I'm guessing I'm a bit of a freak but I can feel the clients energy and as well as tension leave people when I am working on their hands and feet. It makes me a bit more in tune with them and what they need as opposed to what they want as far as the hand and feet massages. This "ability" I have (curse? gift?) gets me heaps of referrals too, cos people are always saying that I have a certain "touch".

go for it!
Nancy :)

I am currently preparing to start taking clients at home, and I only plan to do enhancements.

I hate pedicures with a passion, I have a thing about feet, I hate having mine touched, and hate touching others, so the only pedicures I have done were the ones I had to do at college.

Manicures, I dont mind so much, find them kinda boring though, but I haven't got enough polishes to offer anyway, so I might just wait till I get some money and then start doing them.

I live in a small town, where there are plenty of other women offering manicure/pedicure, but the only type of enhancements you can get in this town are GO30's, so I will be the only one doing L&P

I'm the same, I class myself as an enhancement specialist but I also offer manicures.

i have had more bookings for pedicures this week than anything else ! thats why i feel its important to offer everything :)
