I tried to get onto my site yesterday morning and got a strange message saying my bandwidth has been exceeded!!! (I wasn't quite sure if I should be happy about that or not?!)
My brother says it's because more people have been to the site than is allowed for one month. That's pretty cool, since I've had the site open for two years on St. Patrick's Day and have never gotten that message!
It will be "expanded" tomorrow!
I hope someone can understand my excitement over this!!

Well, I have no idea what's going on with my site, but up to now I have had just over 50,000 hits on it this year:eek:
Last year I had 220,000, so it's going to beat that.
I don't get that many calls.......according to my web hosting company it is correct.
I cannot imagine it is, but the figures are there.
Which leads me to wonder why this has not happened to my site - how do you find out what your bandwidth limits are??
I don't know what I'm talking about so don't get all technical on me lol!

Don't worry, I'm not quite the technical one either!
I don't know, but it just came up yesterday. Maybe it depends on the size of the company that "holds" your web site.
Luckily, my brother is my "web master geek" and my cousin owns the company I run my site through and They are patient with lack of knowledge.
He said he would "expand" my bandwidth today, so I guess that should work.
(I really sound like I do know what I'm talking about!)
I will let you know what I find out. I think this is something everyone that owns a site should know about.
Good luck,
Kathleen

When I click on your link I'm getting directed to a site where you can read about acne and viagra and stuff:eek:
That's not it is it?

The Scratch Magazine is out??!!
I can't wait to see it! It will probably take forever to get over to me in the U.S!
Did I come off sounding like a goof??
As for the web site, I contacted my cousin, web host. Trust me, I don't sell Viagra on my site!?!

WOW! Thats brilliant hun!

Wow, how much bandwidth were you getting per month originally then? Impressive - well done!

I'm not sure! I don't know much about that part of the web stuff.
Thanks,

Just be very glad that you didn't get stung like I did about 6 years ago now, when the first Spider-Man film had just come out, and I'd not long ago done a Spiderman bodypainting which I had up on my web site... little did I know that my Spidey was attracting a cult following (especially in the USA) and people were posting Spiderman pics on their blog sites but linking directly to the images on my site... I almost had a heart attack when I found out that over the space of 2 days, I'd managed to go 10GB over my 2GB monthly download limit - but what was worse was that the hosting company charged 5p per megabyte for "excess bandwidth" and billed me £637.85 for the privilege!!!!!
