Hi All,

Just wanting a bit of advise really on how to charge for nail canes.

Do you charge by the design or the amount of slices used?

How much a slice would you charge?

I have a lady due on Saturday, wanting a design as she has seen mine (I currently have oranges, lemons and lime on my nails with small white dots).

I would really appreciate you help as I don't want to undercharge, but then again I don't want to overcharge.

Any advise would be apprecaited.

Sally

I would charge for my time x

Hi,

I usually charge for the design. If a client was to get only one slice, then I would charge something like 20 - 50 cents each depending on the cane design. For a full set of french canes I usually charge $10 ontop of a full set/infill.

hth x x

divide the price you paid for the nail art cane by the amount of slices you can get out of 1 cane
so it'd be tht much per slice plus a bit of profit maybe.x

You would more than likely be out of pocket (profit-wise) by quite a lot doing it that way...

I would do like Christine and charge for my time.

Thats the last thing id do....itd prob work out at about a nano pence of a pence per slice! lol I think I would prob charge either

a) x amount of slices (maybe 5) for approx £1.50
b) 1.50 ish per nail/design
c) 20 p ish per slice
d) by time it takes (this is ok for full sets but not great if you only do one nail!)

im trying to decide this myself....remember you can slice your canes up before the appointment which will save you time....im sure you knew that but just incase! x

Hi Geeks,

Thank you so m uch for all your comments. I think I will charge per slice, as some clients don't usually know what they want before a service. Also, it's nice to tell the client before the service "if you have 2 canes per nail the service will cost you an extra....." This give them the option to go ahead or not. I'd hate to suprise a client with an extra charge they wasn't expecting.

Sally
